Ever since Dante left, I have noticed a significant decline in posts, and nothing seems to be happening. I have created this thread so people can brainstorm ideas on how to protect 667 and maybe make it an even better place than it was before. We can’t lose it!

You're right R. ... I think we need an event like a big rereading, or a little rereading ... Together.

I've also noticed a giant decline in posts, but I think it's slightly too soon to chalk things up to Dante's untimely demise. It's the end of the school year for quite a few of us; people are slowly re-entering society and seeing their friends again; people go on summer holidays. I'm also worried about 667 slowly dying, but this is also just a really busy time of the year for many people. I'm sure that as Poison for Breakfast approaches release, we'll see an uptick in posts.
On the subject of brainstorming, however, events are an excellent idea! I'm going to announce the dates for this year's Weird Ships Week tomorrow or the next day, and there are tons of other traditions that have been sort of abandoned (Big Brother especially) that I suspect would be welcomed back with open arms. And that's not even mentioning the new event ideas that members may think up.

This sort of thing has happened many times before. We always manage to recover. Plans are already in place to do things that will help to reactivate the place (e.g. the 667er, the penthouse), but a lot of us are busy and can't do everything straight away.
New ideas are always welcome, tnough. WSW is certainly a good plan. I'm not sure about Big Brother; it was always hard to get enough people to take part, so I think we need to build up the community a bit more before we try it.

One thing we used to do which might be worth trying again is a summer book club. We shouldn't try that straight away, though: it's best to do it in the school holidays.
Also, a plan I'e had for a long time for a low moment is a DH adult books re-read. Unfortunately I don't currently have access to the books (except BG, which I don't think anyone else has read), and this will now probably continue until September (or longer, if there is another lockdown).

I haven't been around for a little bit, but I love the idea of a summer book club! I also agree that Poison for Breakfast will really help stir up discussions and, hopefully, renew interest in the series for a lot of people and bring new members in. On a different note, what happened to Dante?

I accused him of being Daniel Handler, and he did a runner.

I suggest that you read our latest awards, especially the texts posted by Christmas Chief on behalf of Dante, to understand. asoue.proboards.com/thread/36744/official-dante-awards-ceremony

It'll be fine.
I'm trying to do things but been having a busy old time at work recently. If people are mildly interested I might make a thread about working in a library who knows.

Definitely do that. WE don't get enough chat about people's lives nowadays.

At some point, I'd like to restart the rewatches as we seemed to stop after TMM.

667 has always been slower (in my memory) in the weeks following the awards. Activity goes in cycles.
That said, there are lots of great ideas in this thread I'm excited to see over the next few months.
