Could you just tell me what you think of my theory? Plus, the Snicket file could be talking about someone else besides Quigley because the Snicket file was made probably before the Quagmire fire, plus Jaques found out he was alive, and would have added it to the file.

I think there's not enough detail in the pictures to say for sure that the fireman on the truck is Mr. Baudelaire. And with Lemony saying that Mr. Baudelaire is dead so strongly at the conclusion of TSS, that Mr. Baudelaire is likely dead.
The important question in your later point is: is the Snicket File about the Snickets, or is it a file compiled by one or more Snickets? If it's about the Snickets, then it should be a Snicket that survived the fire. If it's compiled by the Snickets, it could be anyone who survived one of the many fires we know about. Even Quigley.
Do we know for sure who the survivor is? No. Are we sure we don't know? No. It's the doubt about so many things that keeps this board interesting.

Not to spoil the fun, or seem like I hate A.S.O.U.E, but who ever said he researched alot is wrong! The books are fiction! So he did not research, he simply is quite intelligent for thinking up A.S.O.U.E!

Fictional books also require research, but it's not necessary to bat that around: the research referred to above is the research that Lemony does, and he has told us that he does a lot of research.

!!!!! i think mr. baudelaire is alive!!!! and i think mrs. baudelaire is BEATRICE!!!! 1. beatrice was supposedto be married to snicket, but something was published in the daily punctilio about him so the wedding was cancelled. 2.she married another guy. >mr. baudelaire!< 3. Beatrice is dead. 4. she died in a fire. (in book five, the Beatrice triptych, hope i spelled it right) 5. she was part of the vfd 6. if i remember it right, in the 7th book, Jaques snicket told the baudelaires that their parents were part of an organization >vfd<, or maybe he just mentioned that he knew their parents. what other proof do we have?!? quick!! ;D And I think you're a horrid speller!I also think that everybody KNOWS that already! You know what else...nobody cares what you think!

Neggie the first picture in TBB- the one with the firetruck and the trolley. The hats have a question mark instead of a station number.. actually, if you look close, it is a v. hmmm.......

Is that the picture with the firefighters at the beginning of the book? If the hats had v's on them, they could be Volunteer Firefighters.

Ersatz elevator- go to the chapter picture when they get out of the long tunnel. There is a picture of a man and a woman (presumably Mr and Mrs Baudelaire.) Bad beginning- opening picture- the man driving the firetruck has a long moustache, like Mr.B. in the EE picture, and kind of looks like him. So, Mr.B did not die from the fire, unless he burned himself. The daily punctilio, which is not a very reliable newspaper that tends to prevaricate, published his death. Possibility of Mr.B being mentioned in the snicket file- 1/7 2 snicket parents, 2 quagmire parents, quigley, 2 baudelaire parents. LSUA: Chance of Charles baudelaire being the survivor in the snowman of zombies in the snow by gustav sebald- 50% inside the coded letter (pg 61) basically it says to montgomery mongomery to bring the three children (Violet, Klaus, and Sunny) to the place where the film takes place there is a survivor of the fire, your new assistant is not one of us, beware! That is a pretty good chance he is alive. If, in fact, Mrs. Baudelaire is Mr.Lemony Snicket's sister, she is probably alive, because in various books by LS he interrupts and says, "My dear sister, I am heading North to try to find you" etc. tell me what you think of my theory! I think there is a chance that Mrs Baudelaire is alive, but you have to wonder, if she is Lemony's sister, and Lemony is alive then why didnt the Baudelaires go to stay with him? Or Jaques? Maybe because of what they have been linked with. Well, its a thought If you have read TSS then notice the to references to the salad

I think there is a chance that Mrs Baudelaire is alive, but you have to wonder, if she is Lemony's sister, and Lemony is alive then why didnt the Baudelaires go to stay with him? Or Jaques? That's why she isn't the mother. BEATRICE is the mother. You just put more logic to that.

, there's still the possibility that someone survived the Baudelaire fire, too. Especially if Mrs. Baudelaire is Lemony's sister. i always thought that Mrs Baudelaire was Beatrice because lemony always says that she married someone else. Also, he says "i have seen a woman i loved picked up by a giant eagle & flown off to its high mountain nest (Schism eagles!), and Jerome also says he climbed Mt. Fraught w/ her and saw her be picked up by eagles... i realize that this connection works w/ lemony's sister too, but as he talks about how he loves beatrice more than he talks about his sister, this connection just came up

I think that Mr.Snickets sister married a guy and thus became the Bauldelaires mom.
