I doubt it. It seems a lot of work for 1. Helquist to take the time to draw a fake cover picture. And 2. For them to go to the trouble of making this website for us to get a false picture.... Its not probable.
My theories for the persons on the cover are that the woman with the red hat and the fur coat is Geraldine Julianne. As I've said before look into the book the 8th scene in the operating theatre and what looks like someone very similar wears the same coat. Miss Julianne was present in that operating theater.

No, they wouldn't do something as insolent as switch the titles, there's absolutely no reason for it and it would incur unnecessary anger from their audience, that's the cover.

New clue:
Volunteer Formally Described.
(You should be able to guess it. I'll leave it to Dante.)
Yay! There's little Sunny in her cute Bellhop disguise. I didn't think we would get that piece yet. Now I'm betting the next two are the throwaway, nothing pieces and the last one is the top hat man's face.

Yeah!! Sunny is in a bellhop outfit as well. And is that an eye painted onto the red-hatted womans feather? And Violet's hair is not in a bun as thought earlier, just swept back behind her head.

Finally, a Sunny picture! I was wondering if she'd even show up, in this picture, after not showing up in any other segments so far.

Is it just me or are they prolonging the revealing of the top hatted mans (or womans u never know) face. Also as someone has said that on lemonysnicket.com the books section book 12 has an empty name: The ( 9 empty places) (5 empty places) and because of what the cover looks to be then i'm hazarding a guess that the last word is Lobby. L hasnt been usued yet so there is a chance. other words for the other unknown, Lamentable, Laborious, Languidly. I can't think of others but hopefully you understand what i mean.

Notice the feather in the posh woman's hat, with its eye clasp...I'm now fairly sure she's the Duchess...

Notice the feather in the posh woman's hat, with its eye clasp...I'm now fairly sure she's the Duchess... There's an idea that I can't remember anyone bringing up before. It'd certainly be interesting for her to finally put in an appearance. I guess it'd figure, too, since she's friends with Kit.

Hi there, I'm new here. My theories for the persons on the cover are that the woman with the red hat and the fur coat is Geraldine Julianne. I would personally bet on Esmé, but it's not very important. I think there are only five noticeable people on the cover (i.e. people who will actually appear in the book), that includes the three women and the scarred man, and the last piece we'll get is quite probably the top hat man's face (oh, what a cliffhanger). And seeing all the mystery shrouding him, I like to imagine he's actually Lemony Snicket himself. After all he's supposed to come there. And if we're supposed to meet him, there's no reason he should not be on the cover, is there? I don't think I've seen any mention of Lemony Snicket as a possible character in the cover, but then again I haven't been reading the first 40-50 pages of the thread.
