Do you guys think that the characters in the background of ther cover are going to be in the story and play a role or are they just in the cover to fill space?

I think the ones in the foreground, at least, will be identified. The shadowy figures in the background(the man apparently wearing a surgical mask, and the woman who looks like she has blue skin, for instance) might just be there to stand around looking mysterious. But I think we'll find out who the woman with the bun is, and the fat-ish man in the yellow coat, and the others in front of the desk.

Yah, the foreground characters will be identified, that would suck if they werent, all this time trying to figure out who they are would all be wasted.

I like to think that the background characters will at least be described in a crowd scene.

Yea, that would make the most sense.
I wonder if Widdershins or Quigly will return in this book. I think Quigly will be at the Hotel Denouement when the Bauds get there because his side of the tributary took him close to the hotel.

Quigley told the Baudelaires to wait for him... It'd be odd if he ended up waiting for them, perhaps. But I'm just too interested in mystery and drama, I guess.

Quigly probably wasnt expecting the Queequeg to pick up the Bauds and go on a mission and everything, so he probably could get there before them.
Edit: This is the 150th page of this thread, which got me wondering, whats the longest thread ever? This sohlud be close.

Look in the spoilers thread. Its stickied at the top of this page.
I can't wait until we see the top hat man's face; sadly, it will probably be the last piece.
Edit: By this page, I mean The Gloom Looms.

Edit: This is the 150th page of this thread, which got me wondering, whats the longest thread ever? This sohlud be close. I know that one of the Random Fact threads had over 300 pages, once. ...We got the upper right-hand piece today. I think it's safe to say that we'll get the bottom most piece on Monday.
