I doubt that's the actual title. They wouldn't reveal it so easily, and since the ad links to The Nameless Novel, the people working for The Nameless Novel most likely made it, and they surely woudn't reveal the title.

Then why would they make that ad in the first place? To make us think that it's the title?

I would be upset if that was it.

Dante- would it be all right if I started a thread asking whether or not people think we'll get the title on thenamelessnovel.com before the release date, or does that belong in the actual tnn.com thread? Sorry it's taken me a while. Yeah, that should be okay for a small thread. I think. If I'm being inconsistent here, somebody tell me. And I doubt that The Theoretical Truth is the title, because it's pretty lame, and doesn't make much sense. Kidzworld probably just took a guess. And it doesn't make too much sense to reveal the title on an advert linking to a site which says it will reveal the title.

I agree; Kidzworld.com probably did just guess about the title(assuming they had some part in creating that ad, which they might have). There were some rumors going around at some point that book 12's title contained "truth", but what I recall hearing was "The Terrible Truth".

...but what I recall hearing was "The Terrible Truth". Much more likely, as that phrase has actually appeared on TheNamelessNovel.com. Still unsatisfying, though. The noun in the title shouldn't be a concept until the last book, as it was with the first.

Thanks, Dante.
Also, don't forget that the Theoretical Truth ad wasn't created by Kidzworld or whatever, it was created by HarperCollins and the tnn.com people.

In which case, it could be a disinformation campaign of some sort. Trying to spread false rumours and etc. so that the title surprises everyone.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but could the TNN.com people have been watching our discussions to figure out what titles we thought were plausible, and chose one that we either hadn't mentioned or had discarded the possibility of?

It's entirely possible. That's the sort of thing they'd do. Or at least, that other such publicity campaigns might do.

That's impossibly cruel and cruelly possible.
I hope it isn't so, but it would be kind of funny if they chose one specifically because we thought it unlikely. Although if we thought it unlikely it was probably for a reason.
EDIT: Someday I'm going to type as fast as I thought I do and then I'll stop repeating people.

I'd like it if they did that-it would be great if the title was something no one here had even guessed near at all.
A couple more, which I sumbitted off for a TNN competition (see the thread in GL). Some are odd, but they DID say they'd choose an original one.

I searched this thread, and nobody even suggested "The Theoretical Truth", or a title with "Truth" as the noun. If The Nameless Novel is watching us, they could have chosen that title for that reason, something we hadn't thought of or had elsewhere ruled out.

I personally think that Lemony Snicket had chosen a title regardless of what people's ideas were. He wouldn't have checked the forum and then decided upon an idea, just to catch us out. He's more professional then that.

I'm certain that the actual title was chosen months and months ago. I'm just talking about for the purposes of a disinformation campaign, or for general trickery and such.
