Do you think the sugar bowl secret will be revealed in book 12? I hope so, but I doubt it somewhat. They've got to reveal it, and all the other secrets sometime - otherwise, the last book will be all exposition and no plot. That's why we know so much about V.F.D. now.

Wow, good point FFWF. I hadn't thought of that.

I agree that Lemony will reveal some secrets to us, and to the Baudelaires, in book 12. Hopefully, the final book will contain both information and drama.

Hey, I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet, but im almost certain that book the twelfth is the Ominous Omnibus - it's a title by Lemony Snicket on Amazon -- look it up. It makes sense too i think -- the omnibus refering to the Hector's balloon??? Let me know what you guys think.

An omnibus is a bus or a collection of a series of books (or things of that like). And the Ominous Omnibus can never be Book the Twelfth.

That's an interesting theory, Jacques. It implies that book 13 will tie up the loose end of the Quagmire/Hector subplot. Another possibility is that Hector will come to the hotel, trying to get to the meeting. It said somewhere in TGG that the Baudelaires will end up high above the ground, so I guess they'll get into Hector's balloon eventually. I also doubt "The Dozenth Disaster" as a title. I think page 120: "But they also knew such citations are not very useful when confrontred by dangers whether deep underwater or, as the baudelaires would eventually learn, high up in the air." And Violet gave a heartfelt promise to the quags that the bauds would "catch up with them" in book 7. This promise should not go unfulfilled.

I've actually seen the book's cover somewhere--it combines the images from the covers of the first three books(the British versions). I saw this sometime in April, but I can't find it anymore. This was certainly not book 12. And by no stretch of the imagination is a hot-air mobile home a bus.

Unfortunately, I found the thread, but the image didn't work because the item had been sold or taken down. But I remember it.

I think I should nix my "Ominous Ocean" possible title due to that. <nixes>

Here's another thing to think about: Would Lemony use DD for a book title, as he's already used it for a boxed set, The Dilemma Deepens? The same goes for OO.

Yes. And the other two weren't alliteration at all so I don't think he's too strict when it comes to that.

So, to keep all the twelfth book speculation threads under control, I'm stickying this.
