Mr. Poe's behaviour at Briny Beach implies to me that he knows nothing about V.F.D., with the possible exception of what The Daily Punctilio writes about it. Although he and his sister are up to something, but I imagine they're probably being manipulated in that, too.

Also, I agree with the person who said he might have been sent there to (without his knowledge) lure the children away from Kit.

I think it was more than likely Geraldine Juilenne who sent him, but it could have been M and N.

Yeah, I think it was Geraldine that sent him. Maybe M and N, but most likely Geraldine. Ok, now I officially say it's Geraldine...*Rambles on* Ok, anyways...
Yeah, I agree with you Mark.

No it can't be geraldine. No VFDer would send a message to geraldine, she's not JS, she cant've sent poe to briny beach. Arthur Poe is just dimwitted, it's eleanora that's publishing false articles and causing all the trouble.

yes, but who else besides M and N could have sent the letter, someone we havent met yet? I doubt it, maybe someone weve heard about but never seen.

It could be Justice Strauss Jerome Squalor Jacob Snicket I'm going with Justice strauss because she's more active than jerome and she isn't as trustworthy as Jacob Snicket.

I think it could be Jerome if the Hotel Denoument is located at 667 Dark Avenue.

The Hotel D at 667 Dark Avenue? How do you know?
I think it's Justice Strauss. Because Snicket wrote that tidbit about the "injustice"..plus Sunny said "magistrate" backwards..unless it's all red herrings..
*sigh*

There's a thought. Of course, there's a thing in the Unauthorized Autobiography... It's a whole chapter. The chapter's title: Why isn't Mr. Poe as helpful as he should be? I think his wife has something to do with it... Where did you find your sig?

I think it is justice strauss. When JS was mentioned in tgg Sunny said: etartsigam, magistrate backwards. Judges are magistrates. And Justice Strauss is the one who is most likely to mislead Mr. poe and the bauds out of the possible JS candidates.

"What a shame it would have been for the Baudelaire fortune to have sat in the bank gathering interest and dust." Thius was a direct quote in the GG. This kind of implies for me that Mr Poe was hoping to spend it. Personally, I see "gathering interest" as the key part of that quote. Poe's a banker . . . interest gathered is money lost . . . I've seen him as a selfish character from very early on, so this statement didn't raise any brows on my part.
