I personally think it is the water tower even though I have no clue what Snicekt would be doing with a water tower...

I don't get what you're saying. What do you think the clue is?

I think they mean the clue has to alliterate...does it? Past clues have been a snake, a Lachrymose Leeches t-shirt, a glasses-shaped sign...not exclusively things involving alliteration. And the birds seem most likely to me.

The birds. I expect that they might resemble eagles, which would mean that the Baudelaires will reunite with the SSHAMH.

I am going to go with the boat on this one because I don't like the idea of the birds or the cloud. What is County holding in his hand?

I think Olaf is just rubbing his hands together in glee.
I think it's the flock of birds. It makes the most sense, considering what we know.

I voted the water tower...the ship itself sounds too obvious...the birds, well there has been too many birds in previous books besides crows have already been a back pic clue b4 and the clouds...ummm...well that could be possible btw isn't there already a thread like this?

btw isn't there already a thread like this? I thought there was too, but then I assumed that somebody would have pointed it out if there was, and that we must just have talked about it in the discussion thread. Then I found this. Oops. Well, we've had situations like this before. The other thread can be used for discussing the clue, clues, editor letter etc., whereas this one can be a simple vote. If one of them looks like it's turning into a duplicate of the other, though, I'll lock one of them.

All the other clues were small, but easy to find. So I think the clue is the birds in the corner.

What about clues from the text? Two jumped out at me.
On pp. 177-178, Lemony describes the distinction between the "denouement" and the "end." The "end" he compares to a fog, or a distant island in the sea, whose waves were hitting the hotel. Does that mean that the Baudelaires end up on an island with Olaf? Or is that incorrect, since the "end" of characters he describes happens at their death, and in earlier accounts Lemony says that he doesn't know where the Baudelaires are and whether they're still alive.
Second, on p. 266 (is that the page?), he references the still safe and still secret underwater library that contains all the details of the interpretation of law gone horribly wrong, but that you can read about in the rest of the book. Does that mean that the Baudelaires return to visit the Dewey library and leave their commonplace book, etc., filed away with the rest of the evidence, or does it mean that Lemony has visited there in his travels and deposited such information?

TGG said something about being up in the air, right? so maybe it's the birds, because think for a second: It DOES make sense. After all, this will be the final book, so it would be sensible to say tnat maybe Olaf and the Bauds get picked up by the SSHAMH and there is this huge battle in the air. Olaf MIGHT even end up falling to his death from such a height. Maybe another charicter? A Baudelaire? That HAS been speculated before, but I don't personally beleive it will happen....

The island referred to is possibly the one Violet mentions in TBB, the one with a law against taking its fruit, as the notes in the Rare Edition of TBB imply that it will see a return in Book the Thirteenth. I think it probably means that Lemony, or one of his associates, deposited copies of his research or of the books themselves in the underwater catalog. I personally don't think we'll ever visit that place, although I guess you never know.
