Am I the only one who didn't particularly like 2?
I loved 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13 and 15. The rest were quite good too, just not *as* good.

I love these songs. I own the audiobooks, so I'm very familiar with them. I can't seen to find the c.d. though.

Is it worth buying? I thought TBL was a rip off so I don't want to waste money on this if it is bad? Objectively are the songs good to listen to?

Personally, I think the Gothic Archies' style is an acquired taste. Initiially, I didn't really care for their music, but now I love it. If you're unsure, I don't suggest you spend the money because if you don't like it, you'll be mad that you spent it.
(Or, if you have access to the CD audiobooks, do what I did and just copy the songs to your hard drive and listen to them that way. I got the CDs from my library.)

There are lots of clips online - I posted a couple of links which have excerpts from all the songs in previous pages; you could use those as a taster, if you haven't already, to see if they were something you could enjoy.

Thanks Gigi and Dante. I will listen to the excerpts. Gigi your library suggestion was a good one but our library is currently closed for renovation.

I really liked The Tragic Treasury. The songs were good, and I liked the artwork. Stephin Merritt is one of my gods. I love anything he does. I'm a fan of Shipwrecked, it reminds me of The Magnetic Fields' Desert Island.

Wee! I got it a couple of days ago, and I already know all the words. Well, at least to the songs I like. I expecially like Freakshow, Shipwrecked and such. My other faves that I sing to is The Reptile Room (I just don't get the part about the bon-bons, can anyone help me about that? O.o), The World is a Very Scary Place; Dreary, Dreary; Crows; We Are The Gothic Archies; and of course Scream and Run Away. I dont really like the others.

I go gray, then bald with chagrin When you play the violin.
How can you not like that song?

Here's a quick interview with Stephin Merritt about his relationship with Handler, ASOUE and the Tragic Treasury. The interview took place November 14, 2006.

Does anyone know where I can get the sheet music for the songs?

I don't know that there is any.
I wrote a piano arrangement of "Scream and Run Away," though, if you'd like me to upload it. I was planning to try to do the whole CD this summer.
