Why would that happen, CWM? Or is it mere random speculation? The thing in the background to the right of the bare foot looks like a submarine porthole or something. I agree with the shipwreck idea. Also, the cloud seems to be rising up from the water, rather like smoke would if something were on fire. Thoughts? I like the cover, still not crazy about "The End" being the title. I don't think anyone likes the title Untrue. I'm quite fond of it.

I think we just like our patterns and stuff. Calling it something as simple as The End basically invalidated years of speculation. Although the title's starting to grow on me now that I've realised it could have been so much worse, thinking of some of the suggestions I've heard over the years. But yeah, I think that the fact that the title is so, so basic, that it breaks a pattern established over twelve books, and that people have been untrusting of it for so long, has meant it's not had the best impact.

I think The End is a very appropriate title, an abrupt end to it.
Plus, I think it would look sort of nice if you had all the books next to each other, and to finish it it was The End, very fitting.

Wow, I really need to pay better attention to this section. This is the first I've heard of The End cover art. It looks like most of the stuff I wanted to say has already been discussed, except for the mysterious object between Violet and Sunny. Most people seem to think it's a cage or piece of submarine, but it appeared to me to be the diving helmet containing the Medusoid Mycelium.

I was about to say that. MM (can't spell it) is actally forotten (a little) in PP, after a few mentions and plot lines and stuff, but at the end its wiped away. Maybe it'll kill Olaf. Neat.

I was so, SO, right about the sandy spine! Somebody is witness to this, who also agreed of the sandy spine.
There's something odd about Olaf's (presumably) feet. They seem to be lying on the flat sand, with a bit of water, yet Sunny's, and Violet's feet, and part of their legs are partially underwater.
I don't like Violet's hair, quite frankly. Maybe she'll use the seaweed as some sort of improvised ribbon.
The fruits look like tomatoes, or peaches, or persimmons.
And lastly, I thought that The Author Tracker said that they will share the jacket, possibly, this is it. The actual cover is not this, maybe, and maybe they'll stay true to the dark blue thing, like in the teaser cover.

either the boat crashed on an island or Olaf is making them do all the work.

I highly doubt Olaf is laying in water with rope around him and one shoe on and one off making them do all the work. I think it more likely that he's vulnerable in someway but then I was entirely wrong about the cage(I thought it was a ship) so I'm probably wrong about this too.

Another point I don't think anyone has mentioned yet is that the foot with the shoe still on it appears to have no sock. That's another characteristic of Olaf. I also speculate that since the flesh color of the feet and legs is very pale, he may be dead. It would be an interesting twist if Olaf died early in the last book.
I also like the title "The End." It's very Lemony-like to establish an elaborate literary pattern and then throw a kink into it. Handler might be telling us that he's breaking all the rules -- anything can happen in this book.

Handler might be telling us that he's breaking all the rules -- anything can happen in this book. I considered a while ago that Handler might make the last book a big shocker by twisting absolutely everything and having surprising solutions to more things than we could ever have expected. The Shocking Secrets document does hint at that sort of thing - but we do so like our speculation to be correct.

Now that I come to think of it, the cover doesn't show, y'know, some action. Like, I mean, in TCC, lions are evrywhere, and there's action. There's something wrong with it, in some way to me. Not that it's bland, but I don't thik it portrayed the horror. Or if its supposed to be. Blue background didn't look good for something like a shipwreck, I think.

I think Olaf is just that pale anyway. I still don't think they'd give it away that easily if he died, although who knows? It kind of depends on when you think the books are written, because Lemony implies that Olaf's still alive while he's writing them. And I agree with whoever said that Olaf probably can't swim.
