Well, as noted in TPP, Lemony mentioned that it would be the last time the Baudelaires would see/argue with both Esme, and Carmelita, and would never see Mr. Poe again. This potential clue / hint leads me to believe that these three characters will not make an appearance in the last book. But, I do not see how the book could end, without the appearance of at least Esme, and Mr. Poe. Personally, I think the title will be something that none of us will ever be expectine...the titles some of you have mentioned have been so simple, that I HIGHLY doubt, he would use those.

Another good name would be something to do with Beatrice like 'The Lifeless Lady' or "The Inanimate Inamorata"...anything Inamorata would be perfect as it means a woman with whom some one is in love with

I think the perfect end picture to answer some questions will be:
Lemony standing in a graveyard looking at three graves. One says Bertrand Baudelaire, you can only make out Baudelaire on the 2nd one cauze its foggy, and Violet Baudelaire on the next one. With a taxi on top of a hill in the background.

Maybe the end picture will have a scene from each of the previous books. At first I thought the end picture of TPP was that, (birds, diving helmet, sailboat) but...it doesn't. I'd prefer it if they give us some information about this book. I didn't find the secrecy of much of pre-TPP very interesting or suspenseful. But not too much. Something like TheNamelessNovel.com I'd be happy with.

That'd be a good way of tying up the trend of the clues in the last picture - put in something from all the books. Or it could be a pile of evidence, including something from each location.

I doubt any of the Baudelaires will die, but I am very unsure of how the series will end. Does anyone remember that 'Beatrice dies in the final book' theory. That'd be very interesting, and I'm hoping for that theory. I don't think any of the Baudelaire parents are alive, BUT, Snicket's recent books have lacked any knowledge about it, maybe making us try and think it wasn't important...

I too don't believe the Baudelaires will die, it wouldn't seem right and beside Lemony has hinted that at least Klaus will live past the series. Actually I think The Baudelaires will kill Olaf and will forever live with that regret contemplating their wickedness....purhaps they will go to jail...

It'd be interesting if Snicket used a person as the noun in Book 13's title, but I doubt it somewhat. He'd be breaking the pattern of using either a setting, or part of a setting, or a time or situation.

What about the letter to the editor at the end of book 13? I think it will say something about thanking his editor for helping him publish his books and now the editor could go sit home safely as lemony's research is now done.
somethin like that.

It would make a lot of sense for there not to be an editor letter at the end of Book the Thirteenth, but that would be really boring. I'm hoping Handler will come up with something interesting - say, maybe a photograph of himself, and...

Could anyone guess what the letter to the editor might be?
I was thinkin' it could be like a two page long speech about all our hard work and how noble people can solve mysteries and all that jazz. Any comments? It could also be like a thing saying like what the ending might be, like after Chapter Twelve cuts off it'll go on to the letter to the editor. I really wouldn't like that, but just a guess.
