I'm another one for the "wants to see photos of Handler as a young'un" club. I bet he was a really cute little kid, and this would indeed sort out the mystery of that photo in the Autobio. But I doubt this somewhat.
When I went to Borders a while ago, they didn't seem to have the book; I think they hadn't gotten it in yet.

I haven't been to a bookstore in forever since my parents insist on ordering books I want rather than going out to get them, but I doubt my BN would have such a book in stock.

I don't have the faintest idea whether my local (if you can call them that) bookshops have it yet, but "No" seems a fair bet.

I didn't mean to imply that you were freaking out. Sorry.
I hate the anticipation of waiting for something to come in the mail. Every day coming home, anxiously checking the mail box. Hopefully it will come quickly.

I think the Private Library edition will just be something spiffed-up, to display in, an, uh, private library. A more impressive-looking version, perhaps with that expensive paper you can use to print in colour, and then they'll come out with Private Library editions for RR, WW, MM, AA, and so on and so forth, and then, after all thirteen books are out in Private Library edition, they'll put out the Autobiography and Library volumes, then put out an Omnibus (all of them in shrink-wrap) and then start to put them cunningly out of print one by one to make them more special. Basically, the Rare Edition, but without the special notes and stuff.
The Loathsome Library does sound like the first five or six books printed all together in the first volume, perhaps with an extra like a bookshelf so you can get them as a library, but that's stretching it. They might be planning to make three volumes - the first two with five books, and then a third with the last three plus the Unauthorized Biography.
What would the spine colours be for the LL?

Well, the Inventors and Creators Daniel Handler book came UPS yesterday. I was so excited but quickly disappointed. There is no way this book is worth $23. There was no information in it that you couldn't find on the Internet. There were very few pictures of Daniel Handler and none of him as a child. Any one of us could have written this book.
I will however scan the new pictures that are in it and perhaps get the text out there too. The actual meat of the book is only 32 pages. I guess I could scan all of it if I wanted. However, I think I will post all of that in The Weary Writer. I think if belongs there more than here. Watch for my post sometime tomorrow.

I was RIGHT, there was nothing important in there. *disappointment nonetheless* $23? Why on earth would it be THAT expensive? The enormous ominous omnibus was only like $16.

Library bound books tend to be rather expensive, but they last forever. Luckily, I got this half off, plus free shipping. $12 makes it a little less disappointing.
