Ouch, LSUA is out of print? That's terrible. Thank goodness I've got one.

Last post on this subject, promise. That HarperCollins Canada upcoming books document (Antenora's made screenshots here) has some sparse The Complete Wreck information on page 22; the only thing of real relevance is that it says that it really is in a box of its own, whereas I'd assumed that it would just be plastic-wrapped like The Cumbersome Collection and The Complete Incomplete Collection. From the sound of things, it's going to be illustrated a lot like The Loathsome Library. I sounds pretty cool, so artwork from that might be something to watch out for in the coming months.

Will they create new artwork or make a collage of old stuff? I hope new stuff, we could use some art even after the series is over.

I'm certainly hoping for new artwork; indeed, for a box set of all thirteen books, I'm hoping they might try and fit in some artwork from across the series. We got new pictures of the original troupe on The Loathsome Library, so I'm personally hoping there'll be new character art. But it's entirely possible it could be a let-down, although hopefully they'll try and make a full-series box set as good as possible.

It would be nice if the Loathsome Library published the books in a similar manner to TBBRE. It may cost quite alot for the changes, but it could be worth it if Snicket adds some interesting notes on each book.

Ugh, no. I hate "Pay more money for a book you totally already have" promotions. If there were going to be Rare Edition-style notes for the whole series, I'd far rather they were published separately in a book of their own.
Edit: Although, I would quite like to have U.S. editions of all the books in addition to my Egmont copies, but it'd still be basically a sell-out and I would object in principle, although those monsters might still get my money.

hahahaha. I would laugh so hard if you ended up buying 2 copies of each book just for the art. It WOULD be nice if they published a book of rare edition notes and still referred to pages of each of the books. It'd certainly be a lot less expensive.

This is still the upcoming books thread, therefore I'm reporting something possibly of interest to a subset of fans, although the likelihood is that the something won't actually exist. HarperCollins published an updated edition of The Puzzling Puzzles in March this year, and at the time I recall complaining about how I couldn't get it because Egmont weren't doing the same for the United Kingdom. Well, it seem Egmont may be publishing an updated version of The Puzzling Puzzles here, for release, uh, February 5th 2007 (about a year after the HC edition)... I don't know of any other sites that say this apart from this somewhat tacky-looking one, though, so it's entirely possible that this is a mistake and an Egmont edition of the updated PPuzzles will never exist. Still, I thought it should be reported. www.whsmith.co.uk/WHS/Go.asp?isbn=1405229535&DB=220&Menu=BooksEdit: Amazon.co.uk now lists this too, so I guess it's real. Better late than never?

Scholastic publishes the paperback versions. They sell them at their book fairs and through their classroom book orders.
