yes the anagram may contain more than one meaning, but i am talking about the one in which violet dies. your point is true though, we may not know their fate. but that quote from HH doesn't specify the number of baudalaires that he didnt know about. maybe instead of three, just two baudalaires remained at the time in which he tells this story. we won't know untill it happens though.

I do not believe that any of the Baudelaires shall die in the next book(s). They are one of the main characters. Why, the books wouldn't be HALF as interesting if ANY one of them die, so why would Lemony risk the sales of his books? That rumor sounds absolutely ridiculous.

One part of the rumour was started when someone said that the title LS had in the UA (The story of three siblings, one of them dead [or something to that effect]) meant that one of the orphans will die, but actualy that was reffering to the autobiography itself fyi

Hopefully all three die.
Oh, don't give me that look.
It WOULD be an unfortunate way to end such an unfortuante series. But I bet if they made a movie of the last book the children would end and run away to a candy land where Olaf would be punished for being a big meanie head and their parents were alive and well.

HEY! They're all gonna die someday. But not soon. In the UA, when he mentions 3 siblings, one of whom is dead, he's talking about him and his siblings, and the dead one is Jacques. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are NOT going to die, at least not for a very long time. Noone would buy any of the books if that happened.

Plus he said that he wasn't going to do a Hamlet-style ending where everyone dies, so I don't think that any more than one of the siblings will die, although I highly doubt that any of them will die.

Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are NOT going to die, at least not for a very long time. Noone would buy any of the books if that happened. I would. ESPECIALLY if all of them died and their lives ended in surprising gory ways (sort of like a "Final Destination"-type thing). THAT would be soooooooooo freakin' awesome. I would love ASoUE even more than I already do.

The characters dying would sort of ruin the books. For one thing, everybody dies. The second, if all the Baudelaires die than Count Olaf will have no fortune to steal. I know it's A Series of Unfortunate Events but I don't think they're (the books) are that unfortunate.

Ok, if it's anyone, it will definitley be Sunny. As proof, I will quote from The Reptile Room, which I have right in front of me. From Page 44: For years after this moment in the lives of the Baudelaire orphans, Klaus thought of the time when he and siblings realized that Stephano was actually Count Olaf, and was filled with regret that he didn't call out to the driver of the taxicab who was beginning to drive back down the driveway. Stop! Klaus would think to himself, even though it was too late to do anything about it. Stop! Take this man away! Of course, it is perfectly understandable that Klaus and his sisters were too surprised to act so quickly, but Klaus would lie awake in bed, years later, thinking that maybe, just maybe, if he had acted in time, he could have saved Uncle Monty's life. Well, that pretty much eliminates Klaus as a candidate. On an unrelated note, this means Monty really is and will never come back, because Klaus wouldn't be thinking he could have saved Monty's life, otherwise. But, what about Violet? Though it would be tragic and heartrending (in a dramatic, good way) if she were to sacrifice herself for her siblings (i.e. Push Olaf off a cliff and fall with him, set a building on fire with both her and Olaf in it, etc. etc. etc.), I'm afraif that won't be happening. From Page 121: I cannot say that Violet, years later, slept easily when she looked back on her life--there were too many miserable times for any of the Baudelaires to be peacful sleepers--but she was always a bit proud of herself that she realized that her siblings should in fact excuse themselves from the kitchen and move to a more helpful location.Well, there you have it, folks! Both of them lay awake years later, thinking about their life. Now, the title for Lemony Snicket's Autobiography, "The Story of Three Siblings, At Least One of Whom Is (or something like that)" was referring to the "Snicket Snickersee", Lemony, Kit, and Jacques, the latter being kill ed in The Vile Village. With All Due Respect, Chexfan2000 "The World Is Quiet Here" EDIT> Pardon my misspellings of crucial words... Either I'm typing in code or I can't operate a keyboard correctly. Let's just say it's in code, shall we?

I concur with your evidence. Whether or not Handler has altered the time flow of the series, he's written himself into a corner with that. Now, the title for Lemony Snicket's Autobiography, "The Story of Three Siblings, At Least One of Whom Is (or something like that)" was referring to the "Snicket Snickersnee", Lemony, Kit, and Jacques, the latter being ed in The Vile Village. Why do you call the Snicket siblings the Snicket Snickersnee? "Aye! The program was a modest success! But then Cafe Salmonella came along, and took our entire fleet away. The Snicket siblings fought as best they could! Aye! Historians call it the Snicket Snickersee! Aye! But as the poet wrote, 'Too many waiters turned out to be traitors.''If anything, it's the implied battle that took place which is the Snicket Snickersee. Although I maintain that V.F.D. are pacifists.

In TGG, it says that the Baudelaire's unfortunate cycle broke...so I don't think any of the sibs will die.

I've heard that alot but don't think it's true. Handler would be putting himself in a bad position by doing that. If it did happen though Violet would be the one after all she did make the promise to her parents that has been said alot in the books...

I never heard that rumor and I don't think that a book with 4 main charecters would kill one. But what ever.
