Yeah it's really hard to place the books in a time frame because on the one hand you've got telegrams and old things like that and on the other you've got an 'advanced computer' and such.
So traitors.
I don't think Quigley's one. Others?

Sorry for bumping this,but I do think Quigley is a traitor.i actually think he has something to do with the Great Unknown.I also thought that Violet was the most depressed of the Baudelaires after THH,and she does seem suspicious,though betraying her siblings is far-fetched.I like the idea with the 'Flowers of Evil' poem,though.

Yeah, after reading TE, I realize that Violet wasn't one of the traitors...yet the Great Unknown did swallow the Quagmires and Hector. I made a story about this, not including my traitor theory, though.

Yet, I still think that Quigley was...odd...somehow. And, even though Violet may not be involved, I think that there is a little more to the Quagmires than what meets the eye.

Therefore, I believe that, should Snicket choose to write more, he'll divulge some info on those mysterious Quagmires.
