LemonySnicket.com has recently seen revamps on its games page (now Dire Diversions), on its links page and, perhaps most importantly, its front page. Now Vile Videos has arrived, with the first in a series of three videos, alongside alarming information about The Tragic Treasury and a HarperCollins sweepstake to win gift packs.
Vile Videos
The first video is "12 books in 120 seconds," which recaps the previous twelve books in A Series of Unfortunate Events. It features voice acting by Tim Curry, art from Brett Helquist, and a few excellent excerpts from Dreary, Dreary, the fourth song on The Tragic Treasury.
Despite the caption "Snicket caught on tape!", sources indicate that Mr. Snicket will not appear until the third in the series of videos.
The Tragic Treasury (Thread and countdown here.)
Lemony Snicket Sweepstakes
25 winners will receive an Unfortunate Prize Pack, which will include hardcover copies of The End and The Beatrice Letters. Closes October 12th.
Edit: This development has been advertised in the most recent HarperCollins The End newsletter.
Edit Again: The second Vile Video is online, and it is "The Snicket Emergency." Once again, HarperCollins heralded it with a newsletter. This video covers the troubling menace known as A Series of Unfortunate Events, with clips from Things Are Not What They Appear by The Gothic Archies.
Edit Once More: On October 4th, Book Blast has revealed some details about the final Vile Video:
Final Edit: As of October 6th, the final Vile Video has been released, and the secret code decoded. Several hours later, an e-mail announced it.
