Couldn't be. It says in the Beatrice Letters that Sunny had told recipes over the radio. How could they do that if they sank? By chapter 14, Sunny is capable of complete sentences, and her cooking skills are considerable. I think Violet could have rigged up a remote phone that would allow Sunny to put recipes on a radio call-in show even when she was on the island. Let's see how well the descriptions of Beatrice 2's memories fit, though. I'll check my copy of TBL, which I don't have on hand right now.

Kit says in TE that the Great Unknown sucked them in! Actually, Kit said something like, "They were swallowed or rescued by it, I don't know which."

Olaf didnt die of the harpoon gun, he died of the Myceload Mushroom (I forgot what the heck its called lol) He didn't die of the Medusoid. He cured himself, then he died of the wound caused by the harpoon. Also, I think it's very unlikely that a remote phone would have been able to recieve from the island...and aren't the Baudelaires still wanted murderers and arsonists anyway?

1) The Question Mark does represent the Great Unknown (I think). It represents all the questions that have not and need not be answered.
2) Yes, they did sink. If you look at the Beatrice Letters two-sided poster, the crash site of The Beatrice includes a whisk. However, just because they crashed doens't mean that they dies. Who knows, Daniel Handler may end up writing another series about Beatrice. If he's not going to, we should probably leave it alone. But you must admit, it would be fun.

At 10 years old, you will not remember specific quotes that happened before you were 1. They could've sank, but that is NOT when they got seperated.

Thanks, SadOccasion. I was at first disappointed about the whole lack of FFP, but then I realized that Violet did indeed come into contact with them on the submarine, if they were in fact the ?.
And yeah, why would Bertrand burn down his house and kill Beatrice and himself?

I never thought about that... that could be true. But why would he? he could have done because for whatever reason he was on the olaf side of the schism. and who said he killed himself? couldn't he be the person seen fleeing from the fire? couldnt he be in hiding somewhere in the huge SOUE universe? Lemony Snicket did. At the end of TGG, it says that he is dead.

Medusiod Mycelium alot of people get it wrong. the thing is he ate the apple with the horsradish but the question was what made him bleed. I think he died of something else.

They could've sank, but that is NOT when they got seperated. She could remember if she were as precocious as Sunny. I like the wreck theory because it explains everything with one event. Occam's razor says not to multiply causes in a hypothesis. Here is another clue. BB2 never visited the City before age 10, TBL says. Why not? Wouldn't the Baudelaires have taken her there?

Perhaps the Baudelaire's didn't want to expose her to that sort of danger. Maybe they hid out at some VFD headquarters...like that dairy farm of post office.

How come in TBL all the letters that beatrice write are BB? Does that mean the Kit's Beatrice took on the Baudulaire's last name? Because, if she kept Kit's, then it would not be BB but BS?
