I am positive that Mrs. Baudelaire is beatrice. Kit Snicket's baby was named after Mrs. baudelaire. The baby says its name/ name of boat, Beatrice. This leaves me with many questions. Why did she leave Lamony? Who exactly is Mr. Baudelaire? Where does Olaf come into all of this? My thoughts are that she loved lemony, but then married Mr. Baudelaire after dating Count Olaf. Then she hated Count Olaf and killed his parents. Esme hated Beatrice and felt that she deserved the fortune and thus dated Olaf. Any thoughts?

Mr. Baudelaire's name is given in TPP as "Bertrand." Chapter Six, I believe, just as Sunny enters Hal's kitchen.

Also, when Ismael is talking to the bauds abou the ring of winipeg, he says, "Kit Snicket gave it to her vrother, who gave it to your mother. For reasons I still don't understand, she gave it back to him." What made Mrs. Baudelaire change her mind?

Yeah the boat has her name, therefore it was named after her, THEREFORE BEatrice is probably Mrs Baudelaite.

Maybe she wouldn't marry Lemony because he proposed with another person's mouldy old ring.
Just kidding. I think the allegations against Lemony in The Daily Punctilo lead to Beatrice breaking the engagement. Or maybe Lemony really had committed crimes that meant Beatrice could not love him.
It would be ten kinds of disturbing if Lemony burnt the Baudelaire home down out of jealousy because he couldn't have Beatrice and didn't have a happy life with a family but then repented and wrote ASoUE as a penance.
Disturbing and unlikely I know.

I thought they closed the theory that the baudelairs killed Olaf's parents, didn't they? Esme set the fire to get the fortune that Olaf was after so if she dated him she would eventually get it. DOes that make sence?

I don't believe that was ever stated, but if you could find a page and book reference, I'd be interested.

zkomes, what you said makes sense. Maybe Beatrice ran off nwith the MWBBNH. That would make sense as to why he might betray Olaf, as Olaf said at the end of PP.

I don't believe that was ever stated, but if you could find a page and book reference, I'd be interested. I think that person was referring to the beatrice letters where Lemony asked if Beatrice's co-star was "one of us?" Perhaps. I think Olaf was her costar and that he persuaded her to dump Lemony. And that's why Lemony hates him so much, and his reason for doing asoue was twofold. 1) Spread the word about his lover's courageous and mistreated children 2) Spread the dirt on his worst enemy

I always assumed that Lemony and Beatrice were engaged to be married.
Then Beatrice reads that Lemony died in the Punctilio. She is grief stricken, but then Marries Mr. Baudelere. Mr. and Ms. Baudelere have a child whom they will name Lemony after the dead former lover if a Boy and Violet if a girl.
The Baudeleres have Violet
Beatrice now learns that Lemony is alive. Hooray! Unfortunately for Beatrice, she is now married to another man. She cannot leave Mr. Baudelere.
The Baudeleres have a second child which is a son. They do not name it Lemony because they now know Lemony is alive.

olaf wasn't beatrice's co-star. lemony mentioned in tbl that the only person he knew in his class was O. who wrote anagrams of obcene words in his notebook, while beatrice was in theatre class romping about in the room above. or something. correct me if i'm wrong..

That's not definite proof, Olaf could have changed majors and gone into theater. But in TBL Lemony says he will love her if she marries her co-star "or even O", which proves to me he is not the co-star.
