Ya, maybe something more interesting could happen in the next few books...which will be coming out in....2019. yup. I mean, from the first book to the second was really good, different plots, and even the third. Harry started to get to me in the fourth. Now I really don't like him. Like in the water competition when he saved all those other people. I have never wanted to hit someone so bad in my life.

Yes ginnyriddle, exactly! I was formulating all these cool reasons, and then it turned out the reason was not so cool. I mean, who says the prophesy's are even true. Voldie is too obsessed with killing Potter. ;D
My favorite fake reason I had came up with was that voldemort had a crush on Lily. And then James stole her from him. Yeah, a little far fetched, I know, but at least it was cool!

Whoa, me too! I mean, I had this thing that Lily and Voldie were related, ect. I figured the whole thing had to do with lily though. but nooooooo. I think you and me need to write the next Harry Potter book.

*special handshake* Okay, lets go! Hmm...where to start... I got it!
Once upon a time there were two extremely beautiful girls named Hermione and Ginny, who won the hearts of all the Hogwarts hotties (lol) except for Dumbledore, because Ginny didn't like him.

... I didn't have any idea what the events were going to be in the 5th book and I must admit I have not so much an idea of what will happen in the 6th. Everything I expected to happen in the 5th(ministry and Dumbledore joining forces to stop Voldemort while he's having a grand old time murdering muggles and gaining alies) will actually happen in the 6th but Harry must find a way to destroy Voldie without using anyone else or his wand because their wands go through priori incantatem whenever they fight.

I, too, was irritated by the prophesy thing. I have read that book about five times now, and still don't get the complete picture how this makes everything make sense. (My mother is still convinced the prophesy was talking about Neville)
And I think that Harry kills Voldemort in the 7th book. (JK Rowling said she might -if she feels like it- write a book after Year 7 describing what Harry does after Hogwarts, so we can nearly safely assume that he does kill Voldemort)
And Jacques- good point about the wands going through Priori Incantatum. It will make it much more difficult for them to kill each other.

Yes, they absolutely cannot kill off Harry. Not that I am really against it, but if they killed Harry off, nobody else would be able to kill Voldemort (prophesy says so), and Voldemort will take over the world. And if JKR did that I would be mad. But at least we have our own books to fall back on, Ginny! Why don't you like Dumblydorr? Also, I was thinking that, well I think the series will end by Voldemort performing the Avada Kedavra curse on Harry, and somehow it will rebound back on Voldything, like last time, and Voldy will die. And then there will be some profound explaination for it all. JKR did say that the seventh book would be enormous. And that ghosts played a major role. Wonder what that means.

I agree that the books are getting a tad repetive, though I can't say what it is exactly.
I wish certain things would be less painfully predictable... Fred and George are always making jokes, Hermione is always prissy, Ron is always overly adorable, etc.
It's not even amazing anymore when Hermione goes against the rules... she's done it enough so that the reader knows she's capable of it and it immediately loses its shock factor. The books have "secrets", but they're not so much secrets as explinations of things- i.e. Hagrid being half-giant, Snape having been a death eater. We can easily digest this information because there's nothing to contradict it. We can go through the book without being surprised, even when we learn things we didn't know before.
If, for example, we find out about how James Potter and Molly (later Molly Weasley) had planned to run off together when they were at Hogwarts, or Ron became permanently blind, or Hermione transferred to Durmstrang without telling anyone why... I don't know... just something along these lines would really spice up the books. The characters always recover from things fully, too. I know it's "magic" and all... but injuries seem to be thrown in when a) there's a need for action or b) they need a character out of the way for a while.
Also: all the face-off scenes between Harry and whoever usually occur in a way that could easily be turned into a video game. It's normally in some chamber or enclosure, or just some place that is unfamiliar.
Another thing I dislike is how new characters are thrown in and then become main characters. I mean, each Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher was someone who hadn't been mentioned before. Then Rita Skeeter and Moody have major rules in the books where they first appear. So much is lost in having to develop all these characters- and often, they aren't developed well enough. After a while, I just wish I didn't have to bother being introduced to a batch of new characters, I just want to see something startling and interesting using the characters that are already there.
This has been a very long rant. If you've read it all, I commend you, hehe. I do like Harry Potter but the fourth and fifth book just began to be too much like the others... only switched around in detail...

i do like hp, but it gets sooo annoying! i mean at least asoue turns around from just about olaf and the kids to vfd and the kids! i mean i like hp alot but, it does get so boring that i think it would be a best idea if jk just killed harry off in the seventh year. i mean, then at least we would all be stunned and not expecting it. i mean i almost knew what was going to go down in the fifth book almost. it just gets soooooo boring. i mean and the characters get so annoying. i mean ya, hermione exactly, oh no i broke the rules! big deal. harry saves the day. whoopee! ron gets jealous again. great for him! i mean if she does not kill off harry, ron or hermione will probably do. i like hp but like i said before, gets annoying and boring!

Well said Mambadumal! That was a very good "rant" as you put it.
All those things certainly would spice up the books, lol. I would be much more interested! Everything is so stupidly predictable sometimes.
And that's exactly it about the characters, there are always knew ones and it seems like JKR never wants to do things with the ones she already has.

It's not that I don't like Dumblydore, because I don't like him, but that's beside the point! ;D He scares me, and he's old, and I don't want him coming after me.

I don't think so. Voldemort in essence chose Harry to be the boy in the prophecy so Harry has to do the dirty work of killing him off.

but, i dont think voldemort realized that neville could also be the boy in the prophesy. but who knos? maybe JKR is going to make a totally unpredictalble ending for voldie and make all of us who r getting bored with the books happy ;D
