I tried on some jeans in a shop today, and the one I liked the colour of didn't fit and the one that fit wasn't the colour I wanted, so I decided to order them online when I get home. Then I walked past a charity shop and I thought I could have a look if they have anything in that sort of style. They did not only have something in that sort of style, they had THE EXACT SAME jeans in the colour and size I wanted. I bought those and another pair for less than half the price.

I have got all the ingredients for the Tiny Boring Meal so I can cook it later today.
For lunch I used the rest of the tofu and some of the beans to deliberately make the complete opposite of a Tiny Boring Meal (Big Exciting Meal?), which was pan fried crispy tofu and vegetables with a sweet and sour chili sauce with ALL THE FLAVOUR in, it was spicy and sweet and sour and salty and sticky and very satisfying so I might be able to cope with the lack of flavour later.
I also desperately tried to find a shop that sells potatoes loose, but I couldn't find one, so the smallest amount I could get was 750g of baby potatoes. I really don't know what to do with the rest of them.

I used to have tinned peaches for dessert a lot as a kid and really liked them but I haven't had them for years

We're away around the same time I think the first three books will take me until around the end of March. I think for the lime stew I will make something up that's somewhere between a salad and a cold soup in texture. Probably using slightly mashed avocado, tomato, cucumber, maybe some chickpeas and a bit of chili.

To me everyone born after 2000 will forever stay a kid.

I miss the time when facebook was just for posting random salsa like that, it keeps showing me "memories" like that too.

I like cereal but I hardly ever have an actual bowl of it because it just makes me feel hungry again not much later. I normally have it with yoghurt and fruit and sometimes I just grab a handful as a snack. I'm looking forward to actually having a bowl of cereal for this.
I have made a little plan of when to make what, starting with the Tiny Boring Meal next Saturday.
I'm not sure what a cold lime stew is supposed to be. From the book it would make sense for it to be made without cooking, rather than cooked and then chilled. But wouldn't that be more of a salad than a stew? And what could the ingredients be if they aren't cooked?

I love the look of the pasta puttanesca and the Mushroom Stroganoff and even the toast, because I like my toast too dark. I'm considering which toppings would qualify for this. The porridge looks sad to me because it's tiny and I love porridge. I'm having porridge tomorrow morning, but with cherries (and possibly some almond extract for a sort of cherry bakewell flavour) If you wanted the boring meal to look properly sad, you would have to put the bean the other way round. I think when I do this I will make a similar size portion and use plain unflavoured tofu in place of the chicken, which is less similar to actual chicken but makes it extra bland. I'm not even really vegetarian but I would feel bad for eating real chicken if I know I won't even enjoy it. I don't know when I'm doing any of those because Isadora Is a Door says he wants to do it "properly when we have time" and I am unsure what that means or when that is.

The concept of middle school seems like a bad idea to me. It covers exactly the worst age range both to be and for teachers to deal with.

small is a good idea. I have seen random videos online of people making burgers the size of a coin or fried eggs the size of a fingernail, maybe I could try making a micro-meal of similar dimensions. It seems easy enough because it's just cutting out a tiny piece of each thing and the boiling would probably just take a few seconds.
I am also disappointed with myself for not replying to this thread with the only correct response: WHERE IS THE ROAST BEEF?

I somehow missed the first few posts of this so I haven't been doing any of this, except the things that were a coincidence, which were porrige with raspberries and popcorn. Now I really don't know what to do because I still like the idea of doing this, but there is not much of January left. Also the first dish is just really offputting because I don't think I can physically eat boiled potatoes and the other two things are things I would never choose to eat either. It feels like such a waste to miss an actual enjoyable meal to have it. But if I skip the first item on the list, is the whole thing even worth doing? Help!

because we don't have a car and we're too old for our parents to drive us places (plus they live in different countries), and it's only cheaper to buy a season ticket if you use the same type of transport more than once a day. And yes, the last thing I bought is another potato ing bus ticket and I'm about to buy another one.

I hope we get to meet up with B. and penne then! I just got moved to a new subteam at work starting in February where I will do pretty much the same work as I'm already doing but may have to adjust my working hours a bit to have more overlap with someone on the US west coast.
