Ha! So E does count as an associate. The reading of her motivations is interesting as well.
As for the book - hm. It's by a jazz musician - beyond that, it's hard to say what significance it might have.

As for Moxie's, it seems to support a certain speculation which has been made before. Could you please explain this, Hermes? I am young, dumb and not that well read/can't be bothered to go back and look at her favourite book.

That she is the mother of the Quagmires (since, as Lemona points out, Duncan also like Dorothy Parker).

Chalk up one more loveable ATWQ character to eventually meet a grisly end if that's the case. Josephine, Kit, in effect Hector and Widdershins as well...

Thank you Dante (hmm, how can I make that phrase part of my profile, I feel like I thank/will be thanking you a lot), these are indeed fun and great fic springboards! Ellington's favorite book is interesting, as it's filled with justifications and over-exaggerations where many people, since it's an autobiography, are at times more responsible than the central figure.

Most people mentioned in ATWQ will die, I fear, including offstage characters like Jacques, Beatrice, Olaf.... though we can't say about Widdershins and Hector, since we don't know if the GU is the BB. Ellington's favorite book is interesting, as it's filled with justifications and over-exaggerations where many people, since it's an autobiography, are at times more responsible than the central figure. Thanks, that explains a lot. I do wonder what the favourite books of other associates will be.

I like Moxie too much to have her die; I think I'll ignore this Quagmire mother speculation unless it becomes more than that. Look at how many lawyers were made out of To Kill a Mockingbird without having any other commonality; journalests could just like Dorothey Parker.

Strictly speaking a bit of an ambiguous reference - but who are we kidding, it's not going to be anyone else (though I still remember those heady days when we still thought Kit was she).
Edit: Just remembered that Gustav was mentioned in ?2, too - there's another future corpse. Well, so is every character, but we don't learn about all of them, of course.

Gustav was on the submarine with Widdershins. Probably Gustav the assistant, since there appears to be a reference in FU13 to Zombies in the Snow, implying that Gustav Sebald is already directing films.

?4 is out today, but the social media is still on yesterday; I'm pretty sure this particular update was, in fact, posted today in several American time zones. Nonetheless, I think the illustration may interest some people who have not yet read the book... Edit: It's also worth noting that, even with the book itself out, there are things worth counting down to - like the box set that arrives on October 20th, and for which no box art has yet been released. There may be other interesting things on the horizon, too. Watch out.
