How quickly do you guys plan on watching the show? Will there be separate threads for people who want to pace themselves and only watch one episode per week?

I will likely watch it in entirety during that weekend. As for how it should be discussed here, that's a good question.
I think the problem with doing multiple threads is that everyone will watch at their own pace, so even if separate threads are created it might not work for everyone. I suppose there could be a spoiler free discussion thread, but that might prove problematic to enforce. Perhaps the episodes could be broken into a thread per book or something like that, so people could contribute at their own pace. Or more likely everyone will just create threads to discuss whatever elements they wish at their own leisure.

Yeah, probably I'll watch it in 2 or 3 days. One day is too short for 8 hours (right?) for me. Depending on how much I like it, I might later re-watch certain episodes to look for clues, details and whatnot.

Just going by past Netflix searching patterns, probably about 3-4 days. Though if I plan it properly and do everything I need to get done in advance, I already know I have Sunday the 15th off so I can finish it all that day (usually I do procrastinated chores on days off).

Yeah I feel like maybe a thread per episode or book would be good if we're to do general discussion instead of just people making threads about whatever detail they wanna talk about? Bc then we could not worry about spoilers in later episode's threads and talk about foreshadowing in earlier episodes that lead to later ones in the later episode threads too, idk
Anyway I plan to steamroll through the entire season three consecutive times in 24 hours until I dissociate and have weird ASOUE hallucinations and can't stop crying even tho I don't feel anything anymore and then sleep and probably wake up to find I've sent D. Handler rude tweets

I watched stranger things in 2 days so I assume that will happen with this because they are both 8 episodes.
I like the idea of a theard per book (2 episodes) and maybe a whole series thread. So we can talk about everything as a whole. I think If a thread is made for every topic it could get really confusing.

I intend to binge it with my immediate family, with maybe a 20-minute pause between each book to digest the experience, give my family a small lecture of what has been changed from the books and how it compares to the movie, and stock up on snacks. Sadly, I'll be in the middle of writing a two-week exam paper when it comes out, so I figured the best thing to do would be to simply reserve the entire day and go back to writing the next day (since there is absolutely no way I would postpone this for an entire week). I'm also thinking of rewatching the movie the day before, also with my family if I can convince them to join me.

A thread per book (so, a thread for every two episodes) seems appropriate, with every thread carrying an implicit spoiler warning for the one before. For myself, I don't care much for watching TV, so it might take me eight days or more to go through it all; it really depends on how good the show is, I suppose.

I had always imagined we would create a thread per episode, but a thread per book would also make sense. I will have probably finished the series by the end of Saturday 14th or Sunday 15th.

Probably gonna watch it over two days, with two books a day.
I'm also pro-book-specific threads, then a mega post to discuss the series as a whole.
