What a lovely interview! It's great to see that Fernald finally broke it off with that girl Fiona couldn't stand (what was her name again?) and found someone sweet like Clementine. LOL. I should've seen that one coming.

@quags: It's so cool that the Quagmire cousins are only three days apart in age! It's also nice to think of their mothers being pregnant together. ;D Is Rupert's middle name after Uncle Monty? Speaking of Hollywood Undead, are you familiar with the song City? Elle sent it to me a few years back, but I've just now gotten into it. It's a really good V.F.D. song. Seymour Glass: You have a real knack for writing kids, freebird. I loved Holden's and Franny's answers to the "significant other" question especially.

Yeah, I figured that was pretty much the case, when it occurred to me that San Francisco is in California, which has year-round sand instead of seasonal snow.

Yes, it is a wonderful film. I remember watching it with my parents for the first time when I was four or five. Then, when I saw it again at fourteen, I absolutely loved it. I even recorded it off the Disney Channel, and kept the tape for years.
And that's cute that Alexander would be Toby! ^^

beth: That was great! I LOL'd during the part where Veasna presented Meg with the old, chewed up dog ball. That is so gross and kid-like! And what's wrong with pairing them up together? If V.C. Andrews did twice in the Dollanganger Saga, then you can certainly do it in ASoUE. Besides, Veasna is adopted, so technically he and Meg aren't related. @quags: Josh seems like a really sweet guy. And Emily's reaction to his joke was downright priceless! violet Marie: Oh, man, I love Michelle's costume! And those "treats" and warning she gave the two sixteen-year-olds were absolute gold. Wow, it sounds like the instruments in Michelle's and Lissy's dorm were the equivilant to the amount of shoes in some women's closets. ;D

violet Marie: How many people can say they have the ideal job? Michelle is so lucky to be able to do what she wants in life, and get paid for it. And I completely feel for her and what she endured in middle school. I matured early, too, and by fifth grade was being verbally tortured by the boys. Thankfully it didn't last long. beth: Hehe, I love Monty's salutation! XD It's sad about his sister, but I'm glad they grew closer as they got older. I have an OC named Lucy, too, in a story I'm writing for another fandom. I remember that story! It's one of my favorites by you.

Yeah, I don't think I would get along very well with Hector. I, too, am quite picky with my food. The nice thing about being an adult is that I no longer have people trying to dictate what I should eat. It's nice to know another person who's picky about their food. It's funny, as well, that you should mention your inability to get along with Hector. I always think that, if he was a real person and we met, I would offend him by not liking his chicken enchiladas. I am not a fan of chicken, to the point where I don't even like to handle it. The only times I'll eat it is when it's fried, in nugget form, or part of canned chicken noodle soup. Not exactly the healthiest ways to eat chicken, but whatever. ;D Every time my mom serves regular chicken for dinner, I always end up having something else instead. Yeah, I definitely agree that the Quagmires and Baudelaires would see to it that their children try something at least once. While liverwurst is my preferred sandwich meat, I would never eat it in any other form. It's just one of those things you know you'd loathe without even tasting it first - like anchovies. Blegh.

Mine started out taking place in Boston, as in the movie. However, when I started doing that crossover RP with Emma Squalor, I ended up moving it to San Francisco - since that's where she sets hers. Mine also takes place between autumn of 1981 and spring of 1983. I'm glad to know that our RP had an inspiration on your ficverse. Before setting the events in San Francisco, I had semi-concluded that they took place in New York City, as I mentioned Jerome's father's place of business being on Wall-Street. For me it's a sort of alternate universe San Francisco - that seems to fit best with what we know about it. (Though there is a picture in TUA which confuses matters a bit - it suggests that Daniel Handler lives in San Francisco, and that VFD members aren't immediately familar with it, which would be odd if it were where they all lived.) I think an alternate San Francisco would work for me, too, since I've mentioned before in fanfic that it snows regularly in the wintertime. While all of the characters in my ficverse reside in San Francisco, some were born outside of the United States. Such as Fernald, who grew up in London, England, and Colette, who lived in France until she was nine.

Is Emily Carmelita's mom? Yes, she is. I knew it! It's too bad Carmelita wasn't kinder to the Baudelaires. Her mother's chemistry skills seem like they would have served them well on numerous occasions.

Aww, I like Margaret. And how awesome that she shares a birthday with David Bowie! Nothin' more exciting than having the same birthday as one of your idols/crushes. Aww, that IS cute! Depending on his exact age, Alexander would have had to play either Toby or Sir Didymous. Still, the latter would be a bit difficult to pull off, without the presence of a large dog. BTW, this interview just reminded me of the complete set of Labyrinth Marvel comics I bought when I was fourteen at a sci-fi/fantasy vending show. I still have them. I heard there's a manga, too, except instead of Sarah, Toby is the main character.

An excellent beginning! The mystery of men and boys getting lost in the woods without a trace is very intriguing, if not unnerving. I wonder if this is at all connected to the village? I'm particularly interested in hearing more about Aramantgatanta's character. Something tells me her role is going to become quite important at some point. Oh, and try not to worry if comments don't start rolling in right away. Often people are just busy with work or school, and life in general. But it doesn't mean they aren't reading and enjoying your work. Just be patient, and I'm sure you'll receive more feedback soon. In the meantime, you should be very proud of your efforts and what you've done.

I like that Esme's full name is "Esmerelda". In an RP or two that my friend and I did, that was Olaf's pet-name for her. It's awesome that Violet enjoys playing football. Way to break the gender barriers, girl! I love your idea for Sunny's birthday being around the same time the Baudelaires were living at Caligari Carnival. The fact that she met her significant other at that point in time would seem to make such a special day all the more memorable.

colette: I agree, that was very nice of Fernald to give up smoking for Jennifer's sake. I wish my ex had been that considerate. beth: I love how Olaf got so defensive when asked if he had a mental condition. Sensitive! Well, at least he's honest about it. Reason for Editing: Misspelled "sensitive". XD

I completely agree with that. I know some people really don't like that trend, but I really think these people should also mind their own businesses. Of course, I could also say the same thing of those who flame other people for liking music that they don't like. I don't think it's a bad trend, and it's certainly more appealing than others I've seen. Yeah, if a person doesn't like a particular trend, then the best thing to do is to just ignore it. The people indulging in trends aren't hurting anyone, after all, and so there's no reason for others to criticize them. And you're right that the people doing the criticizing aren't any different than those attacking others for liking different music. I absolutely agree with you that parents shouldn't make a big deal if their children prefer to order the same thing whenever the family goes out to eat. Since dining at a restaurant isn't a frequent occurrence for many families, there isn't any harm in a child ordering the same thing every time. Just as long as the meal isn't outrageously expensive, as you've pointed out. I was one of those kids, TBH, and my mom never cared. I was - and still am - very picky about my food, so I never experienced the adventurous phase, sadly.

I understand. I just thought I'd suggest it, as I did enjoy reading The Tragic Tale, even though you haven't finished it yet.
