To be fair, I doubt Handler needs the cash any more.

Those are interesting personal stories, and great too that you remember them. My TGG story is similar to your TSS: I read it near an ocean, lost it (not in the ocean, but in a bag), ordered a new one since I'd not finished it, found the original, received the new one, and it turned out to be the audiobook. That's cool - almost like it was meant to be that you'd find your first copy again, as the one on the way was the audiobook anyway. Oh! My TGG story is slightly ocean-related too, I just realised. I had gone to a salt-water swimming pool, and though the pool is indoors, the whole building is actually on a beach, with huge windows so you can sea the see (stupid pun) while you swim. After my swim, I took a walk on the beach and ate at a cafe on a pier, then drove about forty minutes to a library where I had reserved TGG's audiobook. I finished it that night.

I don't own any of the books. I borrowed them all from the library. I feel like a bad fan. The books are usually pretty expensive, too, for all it's worth, unless you buy them used or from a cheap retailer. That's an interesting story, Lemona; it took me longer to get through each of the books, but then, I'd read them at a much earlier age.

picked up a copy of the ominous omnibus for free at a clothing swap on saturday ! this is the 2004 australian edition - repping some emily brown on them cover.
i only own the standard hardback boxset, so was super happy when my friends pointed this out to me, sprawled across the concrete adjacent to some smelly shoes (very olafian) apologies in advance for the wicked thread bump, but it was published in when i was an infant, so it does make sense that no one has spoken fondly of it since then.
