Ok. So, tell something about your ASOUE collection in general. You can enumerate them, describe them, or vice versa. Better yet, enumerate them first. Also, opinions or descriptions about your books/posters/audiobooks etc. are welcome. I'll describe first.
I have: 1 TBB: TRE This one is to die for when I asked my Aunt in San Jose, California to buy this for me, without no apparent reason, saying that I need it because "the information in those books could not fall into the wrong hands". I was very thankful for her and for God. 1 TOO (US one; there's no way I could get the UK) This is carried along by my cousin who was coincidentally studying in Stanford, also lives near my Aunt, and she will fly to Philippines the time I desire TOO (not really. I did a lot of waiting.). 1 Box of Un42n8 Events: The Situation Worsens (Always the US ones. I'm in Asia, y'know) TVV, THH These two are birthday gifts (11th or 12th.)from each of my parents that are not burned to a crisp. TCC, TCC brings bad luck to me whenever I bring it somewhere. It is only safe in the confines of my room. TSS TGG TGG was the 1st ever that I aquired from the nearer bookstore that the one I bought the lousy TUA. Now my TGG is a bit dirty in condition. The spine's paper material is already frilling, the way a cloth does when a lot of friction is applied into it; like a cloth that detaches its fibres (whatever you call them) and you can pull those little strings. But it's still very intact, not like the one I heard fro this site, where her/his TGG copy can be stuck on with a finger because of an irresponsible adult. 1 stupid paperback edition of TUA. Imagine my dismay and horror. This wretched book is the 2nd book that I bought (1st is TGG). I hurried because there is only 2 copies left in my most-updated-nearest bookstore, though it is not the most updated a year ago, I discovered that the bookstore that I visited, a very reliable one has a hardbound copy of TUA, which was P509, and the old one that I have is only P289 (just multiply $1.00 in the US is P54 here). So, I didn't think it was practical to buy TUA again, just for the Hardcover, and the Jacket. On this very day, today to be precise-a year after I bought the paperbak TUA, also on that very bookstore, was TPP.
Imagine my delight!! I almost ran out of breath and actually thought many times if the copy I was holding is the one I should buy. I am very particular with the ASOUE books that I buy. I want the cover shiny, I want the spine bright, I want the lettering of the spine perfect, and not blotted. I even checked if the TPP we have here really has a title that almost disappeared to the bottom of the book, because it is too low, that there is no space after it. I also like my books to have maintain that natural luster (in the illustrated part of the cover, the one with the gloss)the way a diamond will have its natural luster when you bought from a jewelry shop, and lose its natural luster when everybody is holding it and their fingerprints cover the natural luster of the diamond and eventuall, the robber will steal it from you, and he'll only have a diamond, which is already cloudy, or frosted in appearance. Too bad only my ABOUE:TSW is the only 3 that has the natural luster. I am really peculiar. I also keep them very clean and never let molds grow on them.
So there. Discuss freely. Please inform me in any manner if the thread is to be locked, transferred somewhere, or both.

I have 2 copies of TBB, one from the mall and one given as a gift. We also have the Rare Edition, picked up on the release date, and the movie edition with the dust jacket, which I think was a free giveaway with something.
TRR: Two copies, and like with TBB one was a gift.
TWW, TMM, TAA, TEE, TVV, THH, and UA: Picked up at bookstores, but probably not in that order. I read the books first from my school library, in the order that I thought they looked interesting. I remember being asked to take TMM back to the library, having not read the preceding books, and checking it out immediatly because the back cover sounded so good.
TCC: Ordered from B&N.com. Came about a week after the release date.
TSS: Got it on time from a local bookstore.
TGG: Got it one day early.
TPP: Tried and failed to get it one day early ,but got it on release day.
I also have Spanish editions of TBB and TWW, which were a birthday gift.

TBB through TCC: TBB through half of TEE I, er, read in bookstores, with breaks of several months in between. But I did eventually get TBB, TRR, TWW and TMM in a U.K. box set, and then I ordered actual copies of TAA through TCC. I got all these a few months before the (British) release of TSS.
TSS, U.A.: I ordered these from Amazon.co.uk and got them on the same day.
BBRE: I ordered this from Amazon.co.uk, and it's an American edition, since there doesn't seem to be a British equivalent that has the endnotes. It was supposed to be dispatched within twenty-four hours, but actually took two weeks. I suspect they had it shipped over from America.
TGG: Ordered it from Amazon.co.uk, and got it about four days after the release date, which was thirteen days after the U.S. release date anyway.
TPP: I got my mother to get it from a bookstore on the release date. She ended up having to try three different stores.

I forgot something. I think I told quoted Antenora about me having the book not until the 1st or second week of December. But that was only true in a bookstore as the crow flies. I am too grateful to have TPP too early. You canalso say about your merchandise, postcards etc. Really your collection in general. Emoticons! Emotions for Sale! ;D Thanks for replying.

TBB - Birthday Present TRR - TCC Christmas Presents TSS - Picked it up at some random store TGG - Went to the movies, didn't expect to find it, was incredibly happy when I did TPP - Ran to the shops in the 25 minute break at school on the 19th. Overjoyed to find it.
Oh, right. TBB:RE Found in the big dymocks shop in the city center. Bought it because I found out TGG wasn't out yet after coming back from Noumea.
UA - No idea. Christmas present, I think.

TBB: I can't even remember getting this.
TRR: The first one I got, for my birthday a few years ago. I thought it looked like really stupid book, so I didn't read it until my sister borrowed and read TBB, and said it was brilliant.
TWW: No recollections.
TMM: No recollections, though I remember someone coming up to me and declaring it was a Harry-Potter-copy when I got it.
TAA-I remember getting this one, because it was the first one to come out when I was a fan. The other four were all released when I read them, so it was my first wait for one-my sister was a bigger fan at the time.
TEE-After finishing TAA, I decided to order this from America, but then my sisters friend had it, so I borrowed it and TVV, and read them both in one day, before ordering my own copies (plus THH) I also bought TEE (UK version) a couple of days after release.
TVV-Read it in the same day as TEE, before ordering my own and reading it again. I got the UK version for my birthday one year.
THH-I recieved it in the post with TEE + TVV, and I was reading it on a weekend holiday out with my dad. I spent ages trying to find it in UK after release date, and I played some trick on my dad to do with the fold-over cover of 'The Pony Party'.
TCC-This was my first real wait for one-I waited half a year or so for this one to come out, and I preordered it. I got it on the day too-but they'd sent me the audiotape instead of the book. I listened to the tape all night, and then got the book around Christmas. I got the UK copy months later, after I convinced my aunt that it WAS worth having both the UK + US copies.
TSS-Not much interesting. I got it on the Friday after the release date, and I got slowly more insane with each day. My mum brought it into school halfway through the day. I got the UK version, but I don't remember getting it.
TGG-Got it a couple of days after release date from US, and then got my UK copy a few weeks later.
TPP-Got the US copy from my dad a couple of weeks after, and the UK on the 19th, because they had sold out on the 18th.
LSUA-Got it before I went on holiday to Portugal
TBB:RE-Uh, no recollection.
Both calanders, for Christmas.

TBB: Bought in a school book sale when first released. Recommended by a friend. TRR: Bought shortly after. TWW & TMM: Bought TWW the day before my birthday. My brother got me TMM for that birthday. TAA-TCC: All bought at time of release. TSS: Released a couple of days early. TGG: Released a week early. TPP: Bought through Amazon.co.uk when told Irish bokstores would not sell it until November. Unfortunately, they started selling on the 18th October. TUA: Bought between TVV and THH.
I also own the Puzzling Puzzles and the Pessimistic Posters.

Calendars: I got the 2005 calendar for Christmas 2004, but I never had the 2004 one.
Promo items: I'm pretty sure we don't have those in Britain. The only one I possess is the TPP bar code t-shirt, and I only got that because the publishers sent a box of them to a bookstore my mother was planning on getting TPP from, because they (the publishers) hadn't sent them (the bookstore) the books (TPP) on time. And then they gave me a shirt as compensation. I wear it most Saturdays, as those are days when I generally don't leave my home.

Ummmm nothing really special about my collection...I remember when I first started reading the books when I was sick, and so spent my time reading TBB TRR and TWW while everyone else was at school....Soon I became paranoid about the series and so whenever I went to the book store to buy one I would examine and critisise every copy of the book looking for scratches, bumps etc and choose the book with the least damge and the one which smelt thebest...mmmmm....smell of asoue books Oh I know, the last pages of my TGG copy were stuck together at the letters to the editor so to my dismay I had to rip the last few pages in order to read the letters.

I have:
TBB - Scholastic edition, RIF book. TRR - HarperCollins edition, bought with allowance. TWW - Scholastic edition, Free start-of-school book TMM - Scholastic edition, RIF book TEE - Scholastic edition, Free start-of-school book (The librarian let me have two because I'm a helper in the mornings.) TVV - Scolastic edition, Birthday present from my friend Rachel TCC - HarperCollins edition. Covered with dents from wacking my annoying siblings over the head with it. I origanally had TWO copies: One that my best friend Sha'nee gave me and another that my aunt gave me. I kept my aunt's and gave my friend hers back because she no longer had a copy. TPP - HarperCollins edition. Bought with birthday money, has blackish smudges on the cover from a price sticker that have recently been removed by myself scraping it off, now has a tiny bit of cover scraped off. I was so excited to see it on the shelves that I almost fainted right there in the store. I read it all in one day. TUA: Paperback, HarperCollins edition. I've heard of the hardcover edition with its reversible jacket, but never saw the flipside until my friend Rachel who gave me her copy of TVV showed it to me. It creeped me out. Now contains VFD insignia on front bit of cover in black pen.
(NOTE: Fed by the mantra "Misfortune is better in color," I colored in the illustrations in my books, but not TUA: The pages are too glossy for the type of colored pencil I have, and anyway, the pictures in it look more mysterious in black and white.)

I got some stickers today to add to my collection. I don't think they're drawn by Brett Helquist, but they're cool anyway.
