Well, I guess many of you are lucky enough to get the books from volunteers (parents)/bookstore employees (parents)/librarians (parents)/parents/ friends/aunts (parent's sister) for free. Anyway, my parents are still good to me and are the ones who made (half of) my collection possible.
Great volunteers (parents)/bookstore employees (parents)/librarians (parents)/parents/friends/aunts(parent's sister)! Of course, as I'm sure you know, who would be better fans of books than the bookstore employees' children? ;D

Well, I read them in the library first, so TBB-TSS (All paperback) I bought in one lot from a Scholastic book order brought home by my younger sister. TGG (hardcover) I bought at a Sam's club store, fairly soon after relase, but I don't remember now when. TPP (hardcover) I bought the Saturday of the week it was released, at a Wal-Mart, because that was the first place I saw it.

TBB and TRR - Actually my brother's; he got them for Christmas in 2000. TBB:RE - Begged my mother to go find it within a week of joining here. TWW - Also my brother's, 2001. TMM - TAA - A present from a relative. TEE - My brother's, from a relative. TVV and THH - mine, presents from a relative. Obsessed with ASOUE by the time I got THH. TCC - I remember waiting and waiting and waiting for this book to come out. Got it for Christmas, I think. TSS - From the bookstore, about a week after it was released. I have TSS merchandise (false dust jackets, Stop Snicket! pins), , but I got it at a different bookstore. TGG - From the bookstore, the day of release. Merchandise came with it (flashlight, bandanna, bookmark) TPP - From the bookstore, day of release. Merchandise again came with it (binoculars, unfortunate labels) and won the raffle for the alarm clock.
TUA - Got it for the same Christmas as THH.
2004 and 2005 Calandars: Got them for Christmas from my brother.
The Blank Book - I have two copies, one I bought on the release date, one as a gift.

TBB: My mother got it for my brother. He never read it, and a few years later, I did.
TRR: I think I got it at the bookstore.
TWW: I originally got it at the library, but later bought it because I wanted to re-read it many times.
TMM:Bookstore. TAA: Bookstore. TEE: Bookstore. TVV: Bookstore.
THH: Also bookstore. It came out shortly after I finished the series.
TCC: I was on vacation--can't remember where--and we were at a bookstore. It must have been a few days after the release date. I got it and read it in the hotel room that night.
TSS: Bookstore. I can't actually remember getting it, but I know I did.
TGG: This was when I was really into the books. I got it at a book signing the night it came out.
TPP: Oh, here's a good one...I was going to the satellite book signing that night. You had to pre-order the book to get two tickets. My mother thought we might find someone to go with us and made it four tickets, in other words, two books. It didn't work out, so we would go by ourselves. On the 18th, I couldn't wait for that evening to go to the book signing and pick up the book, so my mother took my to the bookstore to get the book that morning. Then, the next day was the real book signing. No big deal, we figured, we'd just bring one of my three copies to get signed. It turns out, you needed either to purchase one at the place, or show your receipt to prove that you'd bought the book (crazy rule). Well, no receipt, so we bought another TPP, meaning that I have 4 copies of the book total. I might give one to an ASOUE fan I know, who can't get the book.
TUA: I bought it after TSS. Paperback. Argh. One of the pages is missing, too.
'05 Calendar: Got it for my last birthday.
The Perilous Parlor Game: I got it at a bookstore. Nicer than the ones I've seen at toy stores.
Catastrophic Card Game: Got it for last Christmas.
Other promo items: I have a little handheld mirror that I got at a book signing for TPP.

I am having a heart attack! We don't have promos or merchandise here whatsoever. And also, Curio, where did you get the Fantastic Font in your signature image that says 'fire solves everything' or something! AHHH! I'm having a nervous breakdown! AAAH! I've been looking for it! HOw do I download it? Where did it come from; what site? AAHHH!! Answer!!! AHHH! *faints* I also noticed that there are many females in these boards. I scrolled through the second page and, alas! found a male! Then I saw it was me. Anyway, some mods are males, and they make good mods. Don't get me wrong. I ain't gay, or what. *goes back to faint stage*

I just remembered, I had an pen that wrote in invisible ink, (it came with a blacklight on it so you could read it--very cool pen) and shortly after TGG came out, in the letter to the editor at the end of TSS, I filled in the full name of TGG in the part that says "The Grim Gr-". I was very bored at the time, you understand.

I was very bored at the time, you understand. I can see the headline now! "INVISIBLE PEN IS INVISIBLY VISIBLE! Wait until the readers of The Daily Punctilio see that! Very in indeed! Looks like you have another sig image that has an ASOUE font on it, the one that tells something 'bout shef's salads. I think the font is the books'body text font. I can see the headline now! "THE FANTASTIC FONT STRIKES AGAIN! Wait until the readers of The Daily Punctilio see that! To anybody who may post in this thread again: You can also describe your books' conditions (like some did, which I applauded for) and answer the questions Do I let other people borrow my books? Do I teach them proper book handling? Am I too over protective to my books? I'll answer them, as for myself. My books are on top if each other because the bottom part of the spine is crumpling because the books weight: it carries all the weight the book has when standing)My books' conditions: TBB:TRE - the box looked a little crumpled because all of my books are piled up in a neat heap, and it's in the bottom TOO - best condition yet, though I regret buying it because for one thing, I dont get spines, covers, synopsis, and Baudelaire-Olaf circles. Aaargh. ABOUE:TSW - the edges of the box set is whitening, because of the frequent creasing due to over-piling. Anyway, its only paper, not like in the US, where they use, maybe leather, or titanium alloy. Books inside are in perfect condition. TVV - the spine is fringe-ing already. Its the only book I bring to school that doesn't make me unlucky. A scratch. THH - less fringe-ing. There's some stuff in the cover picture that something like a tape pulled very fst, then left the sticky stuff. Some scratches. TCC - in good condition. The spine is somewhat hardening, like wax or glue does for unexplained reasons, or maybe because of rare usage. TUA - less worse than TGG. Because of the stupid paperback-ness, the book's sides get scratched from constant pulling and ushing from my crammed school bag. TSS - Just ok, though a big, yet not very visible through the un-peculiar eye scratch, which is also very deep in my vision. The letters in the spine are a little bit faded. A bit of fringe-ing. TGG - worst condition. Some irresponsible lizard has pooped on my books spine (the place near the cloth part of the binding.). I don't know how it got there, since I'm responsible enough for my precious books. Top and bottom parts of spine are crumpled as well, when I was still in the experimaental stage of book arrangements. TPP - this is the one I've protected too much. I kept the paper bag that held the book when I bought it, in place of a plastic bag. I also kept the receipt, and the four shiny centavo coins. Each time I put back TPP in place, I put the paper bag before the cover to protect it, though the natural lustre is already lost a bit. The bottom part of the spine is crumpled, because of standing up; it is unlucky for me to have all books standing up; luckiest is if all books ar piled up-TPP is tanding because there is absolutely no more space. Stupid Omnibus. 1) I don't let them borrow it, unless they share the same enthusiasm for the books. 2) I teach them. I don't want them destroying my precious books. 3) Yes I am! They need to be free from dirt and the like.
