Another VFD-description(Very Fitting Description?) is "Very Fiery Denouement" or "Viciously Fiery Denouement".

I always thought that there was "Volunteer Fire Department" and "Villains For Destruction".

I always thought that there was "Volunteer Fire Department" and "Villains For Destruction". I like the idea Villains For destruction.

There seem to be endless meanings for V.F.D. But the question is, "What does V.F.D. trully stand for?"

I think it might stand for 'Violent Fire Duties.' I know this sounds absolutly stupid, but maybe V.F.D was something bad, and all of the people that were being nice to the Baudelaires (Baudelaire Parents, Uncle Monty, etc,etc...) realised that they were doing the wrong thing, so they quit, and Count Olaf is part of it, and was angry that the other V.F.D members let them go, so he took his revenge on V.F.D members, and the ex- V.F.D members. I may have missed something in the books that proves me wrong, but I've only read the most of the books once, excepth for # 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 12.

Probably stands for nothing in particular anymore. VFD has lost its meaning, in more ways than one.

Very Fiery Deaths is one I've always liked...
Edit: I just remembered that in one book(forgotten which), Klaus says "But we thought VFD stands for Volunteer Fire Department." And they didn't disagree.

I think we can all agree that VFD stands for Volunteer Fire Department that it only it's primary meaning it also has many other secondary meanings such as Verbal Fridge Dialogue, Verdant Flammable Device, Village of Fowl Devotees, Vernacularly Fastened Door, Very Frozen Dessert, Vessel For Disaccharides etc.
