I agree with Antenora at the beginning of the thread, about the Volunteer Falconry Detectives or something. The good side could be call Volunteer Fish Detectives(salmon, leeches). I would've put Volunteer Feline Detectives, but they were on the bad side, with falconry. (the man w/ beard and no hair and woman w/ hair but no beard said so in SS, I think)

Vicious Fungai Dying I think it might stand for. Notice how I have made it on the spur of the moment.

Vicious Fungal Death? That could apply to death by Mycelium poisoning.
I like the VFD-phrase created for the sugar bowl "Vessel For Disaccharides".

this is my theory... VFD once stood for something, such as Volunteer Fire Dept. but now, since the schism the initials VFD are used as an identifier. there are so many instances of the initals VFD being used, that it makes perfect sense Vernacularly Fastened Door Very Fine Doilies Village of Fowl Devotees etc etc etc the list goes on and on.....................

It's heavily implied that V.F.D. stands for Volunteer Fire Department - Quigley said that was the impression he got in TSS, much as we got that impression from the U.A., Captain Widdershins all but admits it in TGG, and while nobody seems to care in TPP, at one point, Violet tells people to call the fire department and is asked "Which one?"

That's on page 177, and refers to the real end of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," for those who can't remember.
