Probably 3-5 years down the road, Sophie, since I'd ideally like to get married after I have a master's degree and have enough money to pay for a splendid party. And BSam, who was it that said that everybody's an Atheist to one extent or another, because they may believe in one God, but not in Thor, or Vishnu, or Zeus? Someone said something to that effect I recall, and you just reminded me of it. Also, all major branches of Judaism, save for Orthodox types, support gay marriage. Mazl Tov!

I actually have an uncle who I think is dating/together/married to an Orthodox man. So some of them are cool with it.

The branch leaders of Orthodox Judaism in the U.S were the only ones of the Big Three (Orthodox, Reform, and Conservative) who refused to sign a pledge promising to perform and endorse gay marriages, which I based my answer on. There is a wonderful book about being transgendered in Orthodox Judaism, called Balancing the Mechitza, and an anthology of lesbian history in Israel which has some testimony from Orthodox women called Lesbiot. I recommend both wholeheartedly.

Now I'm a vegetarian, but only because I have an intolerance. Humans are designed by evolution for eating meat. It's how our brains evolved. See those big teeth in the sides of our mouth? Those cainines are designed for chewing and eating meat.
