Um... count me in. I read The End in one sitting during my husband's band practice, but I'm pretty busy now running my business, so I might not be able to get into it as much as I'd like. But add me to the list!

Opening post updated to link to Rare Edition notes - BB is short enough I feel that we can discuss the book as a whole as well as the notes.

I guess that I will take part. I dont really have anything good to read right now, so I guess this will be fine. I am a fast reader, so the time period would be fine for me.
Just last week I was thinking about re-reading the series, so this is also good.

Okay, here goes. The first thing I noticed when I re-read TBB is that there were more people in Count Olaf's acting troupe than the ones we were familiar with (when they came over to have dinner). Maybe some of you are aware of this but I'm not since I haven't read it for a long time now. Were these people apart of VFD once or were they simply evil people like Olaf? I think it's the latter...

These associates are in the book: Fernald, The bald man with the long nose, The wart-faced man, The one who looks like neither a man or a woman and two white-faced women. The Baudelaires must cook for thirteen persons, what means that there are three unknown associates.

Actually they must cook for ten people Count Olaf mentioned, and themselves (pg 42). And the man with warts wasn't mentioned, so that's 5 people.
Assuming the 10 people included Olaf, then there were 4 unknown associates. If it's excluding Olaf, then there were 5.

Man, it is at times like this that I wish that my ASOUE collection wasn't spread across 450miles I'll have to join in on some of the later books . . .
