Oo! How fun! I can only think of ones for the siblings, but I'll include some lyrics to help explain the connection: "Monster Hospital" by Metric "I fought the war I fought the war I fought the war But the war won't stop for the love of God" there's a strong repetetitive nature to these lines, which reminds me of how the siblings encounter Olaf over and over and over again, and never really win.
also "Wine Red" by the Hush Sound "Who shot that arrow in your throat? Who missed the crimson apple? It hung heavy on the tree above your head
This chaos, this calamity, this garden once was perfect
The sea is wine red This is the death of beauty thied doves have died the lovers have lied" makes me think of when the Baudelaire's start to see themselves as less than noble
"Those You've Known" from Spring Awakening "Those you’ve known And lost, still walk behind you All alone They linger till they find you
Without them The world grows dark around you And nothing is the same until you know that they have found you
Those you’ve pained May carry that still with them All the same They whisper: “All forgiven.”
Still your heart says The shadows bring the starlight And everything you’ve ever been is still there in the dark night" who've they lost--their parents, the Quagmires, and the countless others through the series The second bit talking about the one's they've pained, representing again their realization of the bad things they've done, backed up by the idea in the last line that their is still nobility in them, despite the desperate things they've had to do to stay alive
Sorry that was so long!

Ok this will take forever for me to type and for you to read. The VFD definatly needs a theme song All the right moves is good. Really you should listen to and watch the music video I think they may work for VFD. Its freaky. Violet I can think of a millon songs for Violet but only one makes the cut to post and Heard it all by Emilie Autumn is one that I will post and I have to say What if is a close second. Count Olaf I hate him but I got one Everybody's fool by Evansences. He is everybodys fool but he thinks VFD's stupid so he would say Lemony Snicket or Beatrice Baudelaire is Everybodys fool. Isadora one of my favourite charchers. I have to say Mad Girl by Emilie Autumn ( Im a dedicated Plague Rat). It seems very Isadora. I guess it could go with Violet too but I think Isadora was more of the " Mad Girl" of the series being the fact that I think that she's Bi polar, someting that is written for Ophelia works and the fact that she says Still I fly still I fall is denitly a good refence to The Ersatz Elevator and The Vilel Village. Duncan was easier than I thought. I chose How to save a life by the fray. It seems to just fit the Quagmires story about everything. Esme being a Lady GaGa fan this was easy. I chose Alejandro. I dont know why it just fits her. Quigley this was tricky but I chose my immortal by evansecens. I am not sure wether who said Violet's name but if it was Duncan, this song definately says what he feels. I will say now that I think Violet and Quigley Kissed in the Slippery Slope and that would be why if Duncan said her name Quigley would feel wrong not ever want to tell Duncan or Isadora what happend. That would feel wrong. I hope that wasnt to long and I hope that if know the songs that you can understand why I chose them.

As I said before, I picture Goldfrapp's "Ooh la la" for Esmé : www.youtube.com/watch?v=uco-2V4ytYQBut that's a personal opinion... And I think I've finally found a song that just everybody will agree upon ! "Fashion" by the Rogue Traders... www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5AOns2qu4s&feature=relatedLyrics:Fashion is the only cure It always leaves you wanting more Fashion people know the score Ah? Fashion!
I'm just a slave to it all
Walking down the street feeling like she is complete She's got her Gucci, Prada, Louis, Saba Isn't that neat She thinks that everyone is looking as she's passing them by And everything looks better with heels three inches high
Fashion! Step back Every street's a catwalk when you?re looking like that
I'm just a slave to it all Get rich, stay kitch, give me another hit I'm just a slave to it all Couture, some more, fashion?s the only cure
Walking down the street with her new man no-one's seen She's laughing, joking, smiling hoping everyone sees She's got the perfect guy to match her image alright She loves it when she sees the girls have envious eyes

Beatrice: Burn from Hamilton. It really makes me think of when she left Lemony for some reason. Sunny: Alphabet Boy by Melanie Martinez Carmelita: Primadonna by Marina And The Diamonds Lemony: Impossible Year by Panic! At The Disco Ellington: (I know she’s from ATWQ but never mind) No Time To Die by Billie Eilish. It really makes me think of her feelings when her father died.

NTTD is especially apt since it's not only from a movie in the spy genre (like ATWQ) but a spy movie where the main character feels betrayed by the woman he loves.

I haven’t actually seen the film, I’m just a big Billie Eilish fan. You're very welcome. I haven't seen the film either (it was set to come out back in late March but then COVID happened) I was just going off the trailer. It's a very nice song and she's got a good voice so it's certainly encouraged me to check out her other work. The actual instrumentation is also very nice. Someone (it might have been her) uploaded a cool behind the scenes video of the orchestra recording it back in January.

Well, I'm not fluent in English, so it's hard to think of a song in English that fits the characters of ASOUE. But I'm going to say one, which for some reason makes me think about Lemony and Beatrice's complicated relationship (I think more because of the sound than because of the lyrics, but I always imagine Lemony talks about Beatrice when I hear that). On the other hand, a song by the same singer makes me think a lot about the Baudelaires because of the lyrics. (I searched for the translation to be able to confirm).
Lyric: Tranquility (Hiroyuki Sawano)
It only takes one lone soul It only takes one in a thousand The absence of fear in your eyes No, that's not bravery As children we learn it's wrong To put out the light of another Our innocence lost over time Means to an end
It's hard to hold your head up high But we must try
Sway together in the dark It's supposed to be Cos I want to know the end And you never ever need to fight But you're fighting everyday And I don't know when your light will go out Innocent crying child The heart of your enemy
My heart to heart with the light And we always get along Counting the stars in the sky Thinking why they have to die Just face to face we can hear A voice telling us it's wrong Counting the stars in the sky It was like a lullaby
For sunsets I'll break the rules We learnt playing down in the heather The secrets behind all the veils We just use other words For freedom we make our charge For friendship we bear down on others Can't one of you just calculate Tranquility?
It's hard to hold your head up high But we must try
