Actually, I think his voice did make an appearance* right at the start. The moaning when the spiders crawl out of the gramophone kinda sounds like him. Or is it just me?
*Ironic wording is ironic.

This honestly looks so perfect. I was making weird screechy noises and shaking when I watched it, I'm so excited!
Also worth noting that it included several references to much later books -- ie, The Grim Grotto -- so hopefully that's an indication that they at least want to adapt the entire series.

Re-watched it for the umpteenth time and seen the Hotel Denouement cap. So really referencing the very last books, there! Also, I absolutely agree, it's so great to see the enthusiasm. So many people love these books, and rightly so. And, considering the minimum publicity of this, the million views in a day is really impressive! |

Daniel Handler's tweet essentially confirms that this is a fake, but I just wanted to comment on the evidence linked here: This post seems to have a lot of evidence in favour of it being a fake. Because it makes me a little bit sad that, despite all the care and craft put into the trailer, I may ultimately have to disapprove. Putting out a very fine piece of fan marketing is one thing, but dedicating entire Twitter accounts to churning out countless messages that directly lie to people is simply disingenuous and reeks of pride. |

Whether or not it's real is hurting my head. Right now I'm thinking that it is real and it's a publicity stunt, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. I certainly hope it's real, because it looks SO. AMAZING.
