The teaser is fake. I know the guy who made it, Kellen Moore. He's the guy who made the Fallen Angel American Horror Story teaser and tricked everyone into thinking it was real.

Yikes, I hate to be 'that guy', but am I the only one who's super impatient with this whole process? Like, I go to check on more news on this series at least once a week and there just doesn't seem to be very much progression since first announcing it back in November of 2014, almost a whole year ago. I guess I should quit complaining and just focus my attention on waiting for the final ATWQ book, but man I just can't WAIT for this series to finally start gearing up. I'm just too excited!

As a fan, that's only normal, emf3rd. A year isn't that long after merely signing a contract, and I'd imagine they just keep everything tightly under wraps once they start production. I'd rather they take their time during pre-production than have them rush it and mess up (actual shooting and post is usually much shorter). You'll get used to no news, start to grow bored of checking on it for a longer while, and by that time I'm sure something will come up. EDIT: A new interview from today has DH talking about it, so it's still going on (not that I doubted it) and might give some perspective as to how long it might take:

first announcing it back in November of 2014, almost a whole year ago. What?! No, it can't have been that long ago! I hope this won't frustrate you further, but to be honest I've managed not to worry about and obsess the Netflix series too much, although I'm certainly familiar with that feeling from other stuff. I think it's worst when there's an actual date you have to wait for - it's easier to forget about something when it's scheduled for 'the future', but when there's an exact date you just want to skip through time and arrive at, it's a real struggle.

The absence of official news is ably compensated for by the assiduous attentions of such reliable chroniclers as Kpopstarz.com, tirelessly regurgitating and transmuting hypothetical castings into rumours, months-old press releases into hot-off-the-presses updates, and fanwork into official promotions. Godspeed, you heroes of the attention-deficient!

I guess I should just go back to fantasizing about which directors and actors should be involved in the adaptation, then.
EDIT: Speaking of which, I think Edgar Wright would do a good job as director, as long it doesn't turn into another Ant-Man situation.

Edgar Wright would be amazing as director.

Not sure about that. I think ASoUE calls for a slightly slower pace.. and much darker humour.

^I also disagree with the Edgar Wright idea. I think the series would lose a lot of heart under his eye. (Not that he'd ever direct it anyway, hahaha, alas). And I definitely agree with Terry that ASOUE could use a slower pace than Edgar Wright's general style. I'm not sure who I'd want to realistically direct the thing, though. Probably a well-rounded television director like Tucker Gates who knows what they're doing and can hit a lot of notes genre-wise.
Do we actually know if its live action or animated for sure? I've kinda assumed it's live action since I don't know whether Netflix would be able to get the production level necessary to get animation that would look good enough to keep the world of the series believable, since it would really need hand-drawn animation a-la-Over the Garden Wall's production value. (Though I do want to know if there's anyone I should be shoving my storyboard resumes at on the off-chance it does end up animated, hahaha).
