Count me in, #itsreal.
Honestly if it were 100% fake with no involvement from Netflix than I'd have thought we'd have seen a bigger denial from Netflix. Instead we get a vague statement about them not releasing it and it not being official, DH giving an even vaguer statement and then his wife using quotation marks around "fake."

I'm just team #veryconfusedandeagerlyawaitingrealnewsfromNetflixnowplease? Also, someone mentioned something about not thinking ASOUE had much prominence in the UK, but I would say it still does. It's always in bookshops and people do make references to it, and Handler turns up in UK news fairly frequently (at least online). Most people I know have either read it or know of it. Never forgotten.  |

EDIT: Btw you know that the @eleonorapoe in twitter is not necessarily the same person than the one who did the Youtube account, right? Even when I want to believe it's real, I think the Twitter account is totally fake. If it were real it wouldn't put the link to the video in the description, and it wouldn't fav all the tweets mentioning her... I dunno.
EDIT 2: ALSO, there's the fact that Daniel Handler kinda said that it was fake BUT Lemony Snicket didn't say anything in the subject just yet... hmmmmmm

I don't think it's legitimate but I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix's involvement were proven. However, I don't really care either way. Whomever funded it, it's a beautifully-executed ode to a series that I love and it's rich with references. I'm happy to enjoy it as an individual piece (although the speculation is enjoyable to observe and consider) |

It's interesting to note that for Netflix's recent Better Call Saul advertising campaign, they had set up a phone line that people could call. Although that medium makes more sense for BCS than ASOUE.

I'm on the team that passionately hopes this is real, but doesn't dare get my hopes too high.
While we argue for and against the video itself being real, I've noticed another charming detail in the myriad of them that are in it: The ticket to 'The Marvelous Marriage' says "A play so good it's real". xD
