I'm experiencing mixed feelings about NPH being Count Olaf. If you've seen American Horror Story: Freakshow, you know he can do crazy well, so that's a good thing, because I can see him doing evil well since AHS. But he is a very silly person, he's like the king of silly. I think it comes down to how they plan on doing the series, if they do it the way it should be, NPH could be a Very good Olaf

I'm surprised at this choice ... I think, physically I can see the reason. My concern is with his acting. I have to admit I'm not really familiar with it, I only saw him in Barney-type roles and his usual Broadway-ish skits. So to imagine him as a cruel villain is a bit difficult for me. Wait and see !

The recent script fragments describing Olaf as too ridiculous to be truly terrifying and too terrifying to be truly ridiculous give us a hint as to how he'll be played. I think that fits NPH very well.
