Yes. Well... the question that was asked was was whether he knew who was playing "Fiona", and he said he still didn't know. So he never technically said it was Fiona Widdershins, but who else could it be ?

The point is that 'Fiona Widdershins' isn't her name. Captain Widdershins is her stepfather, not her father.

Oh, fair enough. I haven't read the books in years so I'ld forgotten.
:Edit: Mightn't she still be called Fiona Widdershins ? Afterall, some stepchildren do take the name of their new parent, don't they ?

Well, we know that Fernald has not changed his name: he gets annoyed when the Daily Punctilio calls him Fernald Widdershins. At one time his real name was thought to be one of the great mysteries of the series. That doesn't prove that Fiona hasn't, it is true.

In a response to someone asking about her character, she said, "my counterpart is the opposite of me" - so yeah, pretty easy to guess who she is playing! Which is nice because sometimes we can go in circles trying to guess! I know Beth from The Office and Office-related projects (i.e. The Mindy Project, Little Miss Sunshine). It will be interesting to see her in a menacing role! EDIT: In another Instagram comment, she said she was working on 3 episodes! TSS P1, TSS P2, and TPP P2, I'm guessing! |

For some reason I'm getting Matterhorn vibes from the picture. I think season 3 will be the most effects heavy out of the three season. It might be a good thing it's also a bit shorter, so they have more money for all the effects.

I know this isn't really important news, but it's the closest thing we've had in the last couple of days.
Usman Ally also had a very short Instagram live stream a few hours ago where he asked if Fernald's name was pronounced Fir-nuld or Fer-naald.

NPH confirmed that ASOUE will end after season 3 and now some news sites are using the buzzy headline that Netflix cancelled the show. Makes me sad to see it worded that way because three seasons cover all of the books - what else was the public expecting? (For us, though, I guess this confirms no ATWQ spin-off - unless they make it a separate entity. Honestly, though - seems unlikely.)
