I'm noticing Klaus as Elliot is just using his normal voice and not the high-pitched voice he used in the audio books.

TCC Part 1 comments - This masked ball flashback is pretty cringy. what a bunch of dweebs. - Secret messaging Mamba du mal! - Okay, the masked ball stuff is a lot better with the Snicket brothers... that was okay. - One of my favourite moments from this book is when the Bauds realise that they are near the mortmain mountains... it didn't really come across as well in this but its nice that the moment still was there - The 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' reference was a bit much - Nice Poison Dart reference though - Great setting up of Fernalds backstory - The Baud's disguises are wonderfully crap. - The freaks are really good. A lot of this is really good, especially the house of freaks performance - The outright revelation of vfd this early on is, i guess, a natural progression of the fact that the mystery was introduced much earlier - Anka commented that the sequence with all the old bits of film is like the unauthorized autobiography
7/10

I think they really missed out on an opportunity when they decided not to put the scene in where Violet is talking to the operator on the phone. The operator could have been Jacquelyn or some other member of V.F.D. who has not yet been introduced. This could have been a really interesting little subplot, and also given readers a little closure as what actually happened with the phone call the children made is a mystery. We know the phone lines were chopped down, but we do not know exactly when. This also could have related to Eleanora being trapped in a basement by her star reporter, Geraldine Julienne. Is GJ even in the Netflix series? I am also confused because in TUA Arthur and Eleanora are siblings, but on the Netflix series they are married, unless I am misunderstanding.
doetwin, I enjoyed reading your list of cons. I would say Olivia did not jump with the children because she was creating a diversion so the children could have some moments away from Count Olaf & Co.

Netflix's Eleanora Poe is sort of a conflation of the characters of the original Eleanora Poe, Mr. Poe's wife Polly Poe, and star reporter Geraldine Julienne; I imagine this is partly a question of concision, keeping the cast as tight as necessary, whilst also being a function of their desire to give Mr. Poe himself an expanded role.
