I think it's quite probable that the show will try to better establish the existence of the Carmelita and Olaf's stealing/subsequent command of it, before its first appearance halfway through Part One of TGG.
:edit: Alternatively, they might try to play the bizarre shock of Olaf becoming the commander of a child-powered submarine after only a few days, for comedy. Or most likely of all, some mixture of the two.

I do like that Beatrice idea. As for their almost getting a spyglass as A comet crashing into Earth suggests… they kind of already did, what with the Quagmires' half matching their half as we saw in The Austere Academy. So maybe the hybrid spyglass could be temporarily reassembled, only for it to be eventually broken again, with the Quagmire half following its owners into the Great Unknown… Maybe the children inherit either Kit's or Olaf's (if he has one)? He does. It's seen quite plainly in The Bad Beginning, and possibly at other times.

Here's a breakdown of every single card on the board, words I'm only partly sure of are in brackets, words I didn't know at all are marked by dashes in brackets, and (NOT VISIBLE) is what I used for any part of a card which I couldn't make out. 1) LEMONY [—] RUINS OF ANWHISTLE AQUATICS [“WATER CYCLES”] 2) [J—] [—] MEET THE CREW OF THE [QUEEQUEG] - KLAUS [—] FIONA - RE-[MEET] PHIL - [INTRO] [TO] [WIDDERSHINS’] [MISSION] 3) (NOT VISIBLE) IN (NOT VISIBLE) [D] 4) (NOT VISIBLE) 5) (NOT VISIBLE) 6) (NOT VISIBLE) 7) [FIONA] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] ABOUT THE BEAST 8) THE CARMELITA CAPTURES THE QUEEQUEG 9) OLAF: [AHA] [—] [BAUDELAIRES] I HAVE YOU! 10) [—] [WIDDERSHINS] (NOT VISIBLE) 11) (NOT VISIBLE) 12) (NOT VISIBLE) 13) [FIONA] [—] [—] [OF] [—] [PLOT] [BY] [—] 14) [QUAGMIRES/QUEEQUEG/QUESTION MARK] [—] [—] [ANWHISTLE AQUATICS] 15) [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] [—] 16) (NOT VISIBLE) [—] [—] [—] (NOT VISIBLE) [—] [—] [YOU] (NOT VISIBLE) [LOCK] [UP] 17) (NOT VISIBLE) 18) (NOT VISIBLE) 19) MUSHROOMS APPEAR THEY FLEE 20) [AND] [—] (NOT VISIBLE) [IS] [—] (NOT VISIBLE)

Here’s a thought - what if they reveal the Bombinating Beast, a big question-mark-shaped sea monster, as well as some kind of a question-mark-shaped submarine, maybe implied to be VFD or something? That way, the Beast can play a part in the story, and maybe the submarine, but when a question-mark-shaped thing comes for the Quagmires, their fate is still ambiguous. That… that would actually be a pretty brilliant way to go about it. Some of the intensity of the mystery is lost, of course, but that had been the case ever since ATWQ.God, I hope they go with that.

My prediction for the sugar bowl is they they'll open it but never reveal what was inside. Just leave it open-ended but possibly explain how it could be relevant to the plot in a vague way.

This isn't really a prediction per se but given this photo on Patrick Breen's IG https://www.instagram.com/p/BiDcNwJjfxe does anyone have an idea of where this scene involving Larry Your-Waiter, Sunny, Mr. Poe, and Count Olaf riding the trolley might appear in one of the TPP episodes?

Don’t forget mr Poe.
Actually, it’s easy to forget Mr Poe, seeing as he literally doesn’t do anything.

The fire at the end maybe? This stumps me.

It's not explicitly clear that the trolley was actually involved in the scene as opposed to just being around in a corner of the set, so it could be an updated version of Sunny's solo chapter in TPP. Mr. Your-Waiter seems an appropriate individual to find at Hal's restaurant, and I don't see why Mr. Poe or Olaf couldn't be there as well. But it's true that I'm making quite a few assumptions. If it wasn't for Presley Smith, for instance, it could easily be a new scene involving Larry, Mr. Poe, and Olaf's arrival at the hotel by trolley.

NPH did mention in his Reddit AMA that Count Olaf would be wearing a disguise at some point(s) during TPP as well as commenting that he loved the episodes' overall plot structure. So perhaps Olaf will appear in disguise at various different points during the Baudelaires' parallel stories?

Since Daniel Handler has said Bruce won't be in TSS and TCC: Part Two's ending precludes Mr Remora and Ms Bass, who do you think will lead the Snow Scouts in the show?

The trolley driver. Or a completely new character. Or maybe Cesar Jimmy (I can’t remember the last of the 3 mill workers).

IMDB is saying that Flossie McKnight will play a "Submarine Rental Associate" in the Grim Grotto: Part One

Usman Ally posted this on IG a few months ago, right on the cusp between the end of filming on TGG and the beginning of filming on TPP https://www.instagram.com/p/BgO7yT1HGvp ever since then I've been puzzling over it, trying to figure out where it would fit into Season 3 and I was wondering if anyone else here had any thoughts?
