This Banner really looks like something an Englishman would like. It's very cool.

The metaphor is thus: If you let it, the past will destroy you. Eventually, you have to move on.

Did Black Ink prompt Dante to leave?
[No.]
Is the moral of Black Ink that we should all leave?
[Probably not.]

And now (boldly taking advantage of Dante's departure to double post):
Congratulations -
Dante and Jean on starting the Best Thread. As I have said before, this award is often a barometer of the state of the site, and this year shows it swinging back towards Snickety interests, as it often does when a new work of Mr Snicket's is on the horizon. I must say I had some sympathy with the cat thread, though, which is by no means devoid of Snicketiness.
Gothicarchiesfan on being Best Volunteer (and first winner of the Dante Award). Your movie and Netflix research is an amazing achievement, and one of the most valuaable things at 667.
Sherry Ann on being most amusing, and on all the splendid array of awards you have won - all most deserved. This makes you the next awards organiser, and I have it on good authority that, contrary to recent tradition, you will actually be carrying out that function. Let's all look forward to the Sherries!

Hush! One might reasonably deduce from these figures that you and JL have won the ---- ------- award, but no one can say so until the presenter is found.

Wow. I'm not entirely sure what to say. Dante, we never really spoke to each other, but nevertheless you've had a great influence on me simply through how much you've influenced 667. The Stain'd Myth Murders are wonderful. These awards have been a whirlwind of excitement and intrigue. Your scuffles with Jean had all the tension of a professional boxing match. I'm sorry that you will never get to read all of those manuscripts up in your fictional tower room. The fact that you've been a part of this forum for roughly my entire life never fails to amaze me. You'll be missed; I also hope that you come back to visit occasionally. To risk sounding terribly stuffy, I wish you all the best and more.

First of all, I'm super duper sorry for being late. I was out last evening and forgot to post my speech before that. And today - a minor SCANDAL. There had been a mix-up on my part. I misread the voting results I was given, so I had to revise my banner today (the error was not noticed by one other involved party either). So maybe in my lateness I was able to at least catch the error before posting the speech - which follows; What is a good pairing? Eggs and bacon. Coffee and cigarettes. Fish and chips. Netflix & chill. Rock & Roll. Conga & rats. But what is a BEST PAIRING? This past year we only had five nominations, but pairings used to be a popular thing here. Hopefully soon there's even going to be a real-life marriage between MisterM and Anka who found each other through 667. I used to be 'e-married' to Pen aka Fredy for a while there (around 2014, I think?), and even though he is no longer an active member, he got in touch with me within the last year and we've exchanged some longer messages to catch up on each other, which was really nice, and I think shows that the bonds we forge here can stay with us for a long time indeed. This year, the nominees were Bee & Sherry Ann, who, however, did not get a vote; Jean & Dante, who only got one vote despite being notorious for endlessly debating in Jean's threads about his ASoUE fan theories; urbanletteropener & gothicarchiesfan, who only got one vote as well; Sherry Ann & Zortegus, the Shoutbox Abyss-banter duo, who I THOUGHT HAD WON - but no, with four votes they still didn't reach the six votes that went to......................... ........................................................ (drum & roll) .................................................. ..............................................................................................................................
............................................. (no, that wasn't the winner) .......................................... ..............................................................................................................................
......................................... (that wasn't even a nominee) .......................................... ..............................................................................................................................
............ (neither drum, nor roll is even a member of this forum, stop being silly) .............. ..............................................................................................................................
...................... (anyway, I see one of the winners has already figured it out) ................... Jean & Roxy222 !!! Conga rats to you two! Here is your banner by yours truly, xoxo (Phew. Now on to catching up on the other winners from yesterday. PS: Happy Easter, yall! PPS: NEVER LET ME PRESENT AN AWARD AGAIN. PPPS: WHAAAAAT DANTE NO)
