okay I think that a few people will be there Possibly Beatrice but low chances Hector Isadora and Duncan and Quigley Lemony, small chance some other new characters.
I can't believe how much this book reveals. I used to think that VFD was bad! In case nobody knows it stands for Volunteer Fire Department

Just remembered! I went to a site and the eleventh book is the Grim Gameroom. Could be a fraud but not aure about it. Was hard to make out the back of book but I cannot believe he broke his tradition of saying the next book inside the back. Man with a beard but no hair and a woman with ahir but no beard. Thats great.

to swans- Either the Bruce in Snow scouts is man with beard but no hair, or knows him. BUT PLEASE LOOK AT THE CARNIVOROUS CARNIVAL PICTURES, before the first and second freak shows. . IT LOOKS LIKE MAN WITH BEARD BUT NO HAIR AND WOMAN WITH HAIR BUT NO BEARD. HE MAY HAVE BEEN scouting the location.
The figurine owner in the gift shop is probably true V.F.D., because when Esme was asking the freaks to join Olaf's troupe, she also mentioned the gift shop owner wouldn't, because he/she had to GUARD the precious figurines. In ss, Beard with no hair (man) mentions needing to burn down the carnival, for a message for true V.F.D. is hidden in one of the figurines.

oh, and in TBB wasn't the sky like green that day? or am I just not remembering correctly? does anyone suppose mr. b used the signal that day?
I think that Mr.B. did use the signal, or maybe the Verdant flammable devices burned along with the house. I also figured out a not-so-chilling secret, but a pretty cool one. Tell me if you want to hear it.

Okey-dokey. I may have some evidence that the Baudelaire father is alive- at least he lived throught the fire, unless he saw it burning and jumped into it, or got into a car crash in the vehicle he was driving, but basically, I do not think he was in the house when he burned down. Sadly, this may be a little difficult to explain to you, but here it is, -Get out the bad beginning. -Get out the ersatz elevator. -Go to the part in the ersatz elevator where the bauds get out of the tunnel to the ashen remains of their home. If you have the harcover book (I am not sure if this makes a difference if you have the paperback book) Look at the picture at the beginning of the chapter in the ersatz elevator where they find the ashen remains of their home. Now look at the photograph within the picture. You see a man and a woman-presumably the mother and father. In book #1, the bad beginning ( I have paperback) look at the man driving the fire truck. Same moustache, and they look kind of the same. I think the man driving the truck was the Baudelaire father. Tell me what you think.

Great Scott!Yes they do!But if they are the same person, wouldn't the Baudelaires recognize their own father? That is...unless the fire truck was moving and they didn't see him.But you have sharp eyes.

The picture shows the firetruck along with the trolley so maybe the Baudelaires were on their way back (unless they rode in Poe's car) and the firetruck was leaving the house (with the father), or somehow maybe the father left the house before the fire to get into the disguise (and so then the picture shows the Baudelaires on the way to the beach). Then maybe Mrs. B was left to deal with the "visitor", and then he went to go save her? yes I was thinking along the same lines...ah its a mystery just one big mystery. i hope LS explains what really happened soon, probably the 13th book...I cant wait that long!

(from the LS FAQ) He thinks they're the Poes, eh? haha.. okay, I had a "bad" thought and I'm surprised it didn't occur to me before. But I think perhaps Poe's coughing fits are due to more than cigs especially since his house had that "weird" smell. lol yes I agree
