How should we post then? Please, lecture us! Anyhoo, I still think that someone's going DOWN.

Eye of the Count meant "two-word posts." And he's right; you really shouldn't, although generally I tolerate it.

What? You can't tell what sarcasm is now?
Anyway, let's get back on topic. I'm still thinking that at least one person is on their way to that big Book charicter hangout in the sky.

I have been guessing that Voilet will eventually use her money so Olaf leaves them alone, like someone else posted.
Even though the book is unfortunate, it would be too depressing if one of the siblings died, after all that they have been through. I would have to cry myself to sleep if it happened.

I'm geussing that Olaf and the Baudelaires will be in some kind of showdown (Fernald'll die at the end of the 12th, Esme will kick the bucket half way through the 13th along with Carmelita (super backets(not sure about Carmelita, killing of a child?)super brackets) , and the freaks and children will dissapear when ever) there'll be some kind o' fire going on around them and they'll toss insults to eachother for a while, then olaf will knock Klaus to the ground for old times sake. Violet will start shouting at olaf while sunny gets up to something mischevious (sp?) to save the day, but, olaf will notice and grabs her. Klaus jumps on Olaf tells sunny and violet to run while he keeps olaf down, he then runs after them, Olaf runs after him but gets caught in the fire he screams for help but unfortunatly doesn't get any, and that all he wrote.

I also doubt that Carmelita will die, but she might just vanish. Or maybe she'll be sent home with her parents. But either Fernald or Esme will most likely die; I have a vague theory that Fernald will someday defect from Olaf's troupe and decide to help the Baudelaires, perhaps because Olaf is mistreating Fiona.

I agree with Antenora's theory about Fernald's defection (again). I also have some ideas about Carmelita being forced to choose between Olaf and her one surviving parent from an off-screen torching of her house.

This is what I think will happen; Violet Klaus and Sunny find themselves in the middle of the V.F.D. skirmish after the cab ride. They do what they can to help others like them who have lost everything to the bad side. In the end... Fernald will take out Olaf to protect or stand up for Fiona. Quigley is the one who started the fire at his house and maybe others, he'll get punished or will end up dead as well, maybe trying to help Olaf. One of the Baudelair parents may have survived or at least the Baudelairs will have a place to start to live, not just run from Olaf. V.F.D. will cast off the old ways and start fresh. No tatoos Sad to see it end/Exciting to rebuild, in which the Baudelairs will be a valuable part. Mostly they will have learned to use their own talents to see them through the evils they face and so will be OK, in an imperfect world. In Judism, 13 is not unlucky. So I don't think that the book is necessarily going to be a typical bad luck to everyone ending. Daniel Handler will keep to the theme for his books though. Although I am wrong alot, so I expect to be wrong about the above. Or at least I won't be surprised.

The superstition about the number 13 has nothing to do with religion anymore, if it ever did (and forgive me for being ignorant on the superstition's origins). It's more of a general cultural thing, so Handler's beliefs don't bring anything into the argument. And you spelled "Judaism" wrong. It's not like it's that hard to spell. I can spell "Christianity" okay. "Buddhism" too. I'll bet that, ironically but happily, the Baudelaires end up with Justice Strauss.

I think that one of the Baudelaire or Quagmire siblings will die since there is a definite three siblings at least one of who is dead thing going on. Sunny seems the most likely candidate out of the Baudelaires because in the TRR we are told that both Violet and Klaus looked back years later, Klaus with regret and Violet because she was proud of what she figured out.
Also the more we learn about V.F.D the more they sound nefarious since even the good members have to resort to villainy just to survive so maybe the Bauds will try and escape it all.
I think it very likely that something will happen to prevent Violet, Klaus and Sunny getting the Baudelaire fortune. It may have been stolen or it may turn out that the Bauds have been left something useless.

As I mentioned in another thread, I think the fortune was stolen by Mrs. Bass and was lost in the burning down of the Hotel. That would account for the bags of money in TPP.

Another possible way they could lose the fortune: The Baudelaire parents had huge debts before they died, and the orphans have to use the entire fortune to pay off those debts - leaving them with nothing. But that'd be really lame. At the moment, I think that the ending will involve a confrontation between the orphans and Olaf on Briny Beach, probably with nobody else around - just the orphans, and the person responsible for their series of unfortunate events. (Well, Lemony could step in, I guess.) Also, Handler repeats his statement about the ending of the series here: Q: Okay, then is the series going to end on a happy note? A: Well, I always remind readers of the Snicket books that happy is a comparative term, so the end will be happier than some people would think, but less happy than others.
