I rather imagined so... And I forgot about the "the," but I did catch it in the translation.
Either way, it doesn't really merit a post, and it also demonstrates why Sebald Code probably isn't used very often - it's awfully difficult to write.

charbo, you'd double-posted, so I merged your posts. However, your first post seems rather out of place - as though you meant it for a different thread, or it was written by a different person - so I've decided to let you off. However, bear in mind that you cannot double-post here.

I think the series is being written about years after the events. Beatrice will die in Book the Thirteenth and ask Lemony to write the truth about Olaf's cruelty to the Baudelaires (she won't be their mother)and everyone else. Olaf will be captured, will then escape and will be intended to be caught again with Lemony's help by writing evidence against him(ASOUE).

I think:
A. At least one bad guy will die B. At least one orphan will die (Not necessarily the Baudelaires) C. The Baudelaire parents are alive but in hiding D. Beatrice is the mother and she will die, asking Lemony to write about the Baudelaires E. The Baudelaires will most likely be safe at last F. The Quagmires are going to be okay, hopefully G. The ending won't be entirely happy, but it won't be entirely sad, either

I will be happy with the ending as long as: 1. We find out what VFD is and who is in it, 2. Olaf doesn't go to jail (that would be so unlike Lemony Snicket), and 3. Beatrice does not turn out to be the Baudelaire's parents.
I just hope those things don't happen.
[Edit: I also hope ^that^ made sense.]

Uh, no, it really didn't Olaf needs to be caught, or counsiled or something. I don't really care as long as someone dies at the end. Cause that would be sooo Snicket if he did that.....

Olaf gets the money but the Baudelaires escape from him and never hear from him again and they either find the living parent or they get adopted by LS or someone from VFD

That would work.... Someone needs to, die, tho, otherwise it may not be unfortunate enough.

What sort of happy ending could there be, though, in that situation? Maybe the Baudelaires will end up safe, but of course they'll be very unhappy.
