POTOphan I see where you're commin from, but Kit is probably not evil only because of the fact that she's pregnant with Dewey's child and Dewey was a good guy. Anyhoo I think maybe any of the tiplets could be evil, but when Kit finds out Dewey's dead, THEN she'll turn evil, I bet you. My fic on fanfiction.net under my name SakuraAngel623 makes her turn slightly evil about something.

i suspect thta perhaps ca[tain widdershins will turn evil to join his family. charles is with him but i doubt that he will become evil (it would be pretty funny though. *phil: baudelaires, i'm sorry but i have to kill you now. i bet it'll be GREAT being dead!*)

I honestly think that Lemony is evil. He seemed a bit dishonest to me, a bit of an unreliable narrator. Not only is he blatantly stalking the Baudelaires, but he seems to know a bit too much, like what people are thinking. Either he’s a liar spreading stories to support his own beliefs, or he has just been letting all these terrible things happen to the Baudelaires while he watches, just so he has something to write about.

Well, this thread is a blast from the past. I think I've seen others voice your theory about Lemony just wanting something to write about, roxy222; a cynical view, but an author and fugitive must make his living somehow!

It is interesting to see someone following the same paths that I followed. It's a chance for me in the future to be able to argue with me from the past. So @ roxy222, I already thought like you. But after I carefully analyzed each piece of evidence (with the help of Dante) I saw that I was wrong. Lemony Snicket is the very reliable narrator. In fact, he is more reliable than Daniel Handler himself. While Daniel Handler sometimes tries to trick you through (he is like the master of an RPG game, and uses red herring,) Lemony Snicket is not trying to trick the reader. Lemony may even be mistaken in some ways in some passages, but it is not his fault, but it is the fault of Daniel Handler, who put Lemony in a situation where he ended up making a mistake. I know it's confusing, but now that I'm writing a long text in which a character tells the story, I understand this dynamic better. Note: Lemony admittedly informs the reader what he is sure of and what he has just deduced. Lemony is openly doing detailed research on the Baudelaires. There are eyewitnesses to this fact: Beatrice Jr. Lemony is reportedly publishing the main story years after the events narrated. Lemony has access only to the Baudelaire's thoughts. Lemony tells the story from the Baudelaire's point of view. (In other words, Lemony sees what the Baudelaires see). Lemony knows about private Baudelaire conversations, where he himself was not, as in the caravan, on the island, in the elevator shaft, in submarine Q. Put this information together and the answer is obvious: Lemony had access to information produced by the Baudelaires themselves. I believe he used the information that was in the island's book. And to write chapter 14, he must have used the information he got from Beatrice Jr. This explains a lot about ASOUE, and explains why Daniel Handler decided to give the island's book exactly that name. TE exonerates Lemony from the charge of being an unreliable narrator. Lemony doesn't want to get rich from publishing asoue. Lemony is publishing asoue to fulfill a promise. He sincerely asks the reader not to read the story. I believe that Lemony does not make money from it, after all he is a volunteer.
