I believe you are right, but I'm not surprised. They had to get a picture out there to advertise, but the actual production of the books might not be complete yet.

On the back view, Violet taking the fruit from the serpent, hinting that perhaps she gives in, and finial joins the villains?

Its interesting that none of the Baudelaires are looking at each other in this picture. To me, this suggests that they will no longer be together by the end of the last book. Each will go their separate way. (This was also hinted in TBB-RE, where it said Violet, not the others, made a last journey to Briny Beach).

On the back view, Violet taking the fruit from the serpent, hinting that perhaps she gives in, and finial joins the villains? That's exactly what I thought! If you look closely, doesn't it seem like Klaus is giving Violet a sort of disappointed look? Hmm. Anyway, I will somehow manage to get this. OR DIE TRYING. D:

There is some similarity between the two pictures. The hair blowing in the breeze, the arms across the body, the wistful look on the face. (Venus even has a ribbon in her hair. I wonder what invention she's dreaming up?) I've been thinking about the supposed biblical allusion with Violet, the apple and the snake. But if it's the Incredibly Deadly Viper, he is good, not evil and a friend to the Baudelaires. What if he isn't giving the apple to Violet, but taking it from her, stopping her from eating it? Of course, this is a lots of "ifs" and we can't really tell for sure. I just thought I would throw that out there.

I think I would probably prefer an inversion of the Genesis story than a straight retelling. Because if you think about it, Genesis was the beginning, but this is The End. So it might very well be not what it appears, things told the other way around to what we'd expect.

This is awesome! As for the Baudelaires going their separate ways - I doubt it highly. Maybe Violet is the only survivor of some unnamed disaster? Or maybe they get separated for some reason? heh..... does anyone think it's funny that Sunny is making a salad down at the baottom there? Also, it looks as if Violet is reluctantly taking - or receiving - the apple from the Viper. Maybe she'll be forced to do something that she doesn't want to do in order to help her siblings - like kill Olaf, maybe? Does this mean that the spine for TE will be a sandy tan?

I was shopping around online. It looks like Walmart has the cheapest price for The Complete Wreck - $88.83. That divides out to only $6.83 per book. That's a much better price than buying them separately. I think I'll definitely be buying the set and give away the books so I can keep the box.

This box is going to be pretty big. I measured my 12 books and they are just over 12 inches wide. All 13 books should be around 13 inches. Nice size!

If you look at the box, it looks like there are glasses looking down on TPP and TE for some strange, wierd. wacky reason.I love the box, though.

Violet, to me, looks like she has a trance or hypnotyzed look on her face. Plus,. I've been looking everywhere for views of the sides and bottoms. Anyone come up with anything?

We'll probably have to wait until it comes out.
