It seems to me like Lemony would be more likely to plead aid from beatrice, I mean he seems more the pleading type. Here he is mourning her every paragraph while she sends him a report on why they can't be married.

I can see that....

... and a telegram is great, it sounds like the U.A. in that respect, but the plea for help between them - does that mean that one of them asked for help from the other? My guess is Beatrice was asking for help with the serious crime Snicket helped her commit before her death. You theory about the plea for help is plausible, I agree. However, I was thinking that perhaps the plea for help between them was when Lemony was forced to flee the country (mentioned in LSUA, pg 96-8, and TMM, page 53), presumably after helping Beatrice with her crime. Jacques tells Lemony that he "must not communicate with B. at all, not even by telegram or carrier pigeon." (In pages 96-8, LSUA) but perhaps he did, to plea for help. ...Now that I've written that, Dante's seems more likely. I've recieved the AuthorTracker now, at 12:25 am, I assume PST. So that's...eight twenty-five am GMT. I'm thinking that maybe the crime that Beatrice comitted was the theft from Esme, remember from TEE when Esme mentioned that she was trying to reclaim what Beatrice stole from her... that would be quite plausible... does anyone remember what Beatrice stole? I'm thinking the sugar bowl, but I'm not sure if that was confirmed in the book... can someone check it?

TPP confirmed that Esmé thinks Beatrice stole the sugar bowl from her, but Lemony confessed in THH that he did it himself.

Page 90: "I will suddenly remember this thing I did, and think to myself, Was it really necessary? Was it absolutely necessary to steal that sugar bowl from Esme Squalor?"
And the original instance of Esme thinking the sugar bowl was stolen came up in TEE, although she just mentioned Beatrice stealing from her, not specifying what she stole.
Edit: More comprehensive information in the post below mine. Thank you, Dante.

I never remember LS admitting... Esmé thinks Beatrice stole the sugar bowl: “But I want to steal from you,” Esmé said. “I want to steal from you the way Beatrice stole from me.”TEE - p187-188 "Then you know all about the sugar bowl," Esmé said, "and what's inside [...] And you know," she said in a terrible voice, "that it is mine ." "Not anymore," Dewey said. "Beatrice stole it from me !" Esmé said.TPP - p220-221 Lemony admits he stole the sugar bowl: But if this were a book about me [...] I might pause for a moment and tell you about something I did many years ago that still troubles me. It was a necessary thing to do, but it was not a nice thing, and even now, I get a small quiver of shame in my stomach whenever I remember it. I might be doing something I enjoy [...] when I will suddenly remember this thing I did, and think to myself, Was it really necessary? Was it absolutely necessary to steal that sugar bowl from Esmé Squalor? "THH - p90-91 (I've cut out parts that don't matter whenever you see a "[...]" because I wasn't going to type out a page or so just so you could get certain bits of context, but you can look up any of these quotes yourself thanks to my handy "page references.")

You know, Dante, you could make a fortune by writing "An Annotated Guide to ASoUE," or "An ASoUE Index," making all these connections readily available. I'll bet DH would sanction it, and HC would publish it.

I hope that's not the crime he helped her with(I think that's what the shocking secret said) because we already know about that one.

I was thinking that it might be today, although I forget why; I also think they might be waiting until exactly a week before TBL's release, which is tomorrow, I think. So pretty much any day now, I'd say.

So pretty much any day now, I'd say. Because today is a Monday? Anyway, I hope it arrives soon with information to keep us satisfied for a week (or less, in some cases).

Well it'll certainly be less than a week if we haven't gotten it by now. I'm voting for tomorrow. It wouldn't make sense to give one out on the last day of August would it?
