What would be the best or the worst ways to end the series?
BAD WAYS- -It turns out VFD is just a regular fire department with crazy imaginations. -It turns out its a dream -Nothing is EVER explained.

Bad Way- We find out Olaf is the good guy Good way- We FINALLY learn about Beatrice (but I think that's pretty much planned anyway) Bad ways are more fun to think up!

GOOD WAY the Buadelaires find out that they are equally as wicked if not more wicked than count olaf BAD WAY Olaf is sent to prison, the Baudelaires reunite with both their parents who managed to survive the fire, the daily punctillio decide to bother some other orphans and they all live happily ever after

Worst: A giant meteor falls from the sky and kills Olaf, and the Baudelaires live happily ever after. The man with a beard and the woman with no beard are revealed to be the parents, having been hypnotized or something. In the midst of an exciting scene, the story breaks off and the end is replaced with either The Littlest Elf or The Pony Party.

Bad way: VFD is destroyed all together and there are no more good guys or bad guys, everyone lives in perfect harmany.
Good way: we find out who Beatrice is and the Bauds meet Lemony (if they havent already) and most of the questions are answered.

In my opinion, a very interesting ending would be this: The Baudelaires return to Heimleich (sp?) Hospital, to find it as it was- destroyed. Klaus begins wandering the wreckage, and finds a hard metal object in the soil. It turns out to be the top drawer of a filing cabinet. Knowing that Hal is not around, Klaus opens it up, and pulls out an old issue of the Daily Punctilio (sp?). On the front, he is surprised to see a picture of his parents, and then a story relating to murder by poison darts, in an opera house long ago. Before doind anything, Klaus tells Violet and Sunny what he has found, and then together, the three siblings begin to read. [To understand this, you may want to read the Baudelaire Parents Murder theory. Link: asoue.proboards11.com/index.cgi?board=conjectures&action=display&thread=1129749024 ] The siblings are horrified to discover that their parents were the murderers. Later, by careful research, aided by any surviving members of V.F.D, they also are shocked to find out that it was Mr and Mrs. Baudelaire who caused the schism. Quigley reveals that he knew this all along, and that's why he has been acting a little odd in the past [Suspicious Quigley? Link: asoue.proboards11.com/index.cgi?board=conjectures&action=display&thread=1109416324] and he just didn't say anything because he didn't want to upset the Baudelaires further. The Baudeliares are exiled by everyone who found out, with the exception of Lemony. On the outskirts of the town [Any town?] Lemony meets the children and explains everything they wanted to know, before wishing them goodbye, and wandering out into the fog. -- Of course, for this to happen, those two theories I linked too would have to be proved real, and this is also unlinkely to happen anyway. But, nonetheless, could make interesting reading.

Bad Way: They find Uncle Monty who somehow wasn't actually dead, he gets a snake to kill Olaf and then everyone lives happily ever after

Bad way: This is all just some sick kind of V.F.D. training.(I know, it's already been mentioned in millions of threads)

Bad way: This is all just some sick kind of V.F.D. training.(I know, it's already been mentioned in millions of threads) I concur, although I'm sure I can think of something that makes it even worse: This is all just some sick kind of V.F.D. training, and when the Baudelaires find out, they aren't enraged but merely shrug their shoulders and look at it optimistically. Other bad endings: Esmé Squalor turns out to have been an undercover policewoman, and she arrests Olaf for his crimes, throws him in jail forever, and the Baudelaires live happily ever after with her and Carmelita.

woah, very detailed, anxiousclown...*looks at anxious suspiciously* are you Lemony Snicket? Pfft, I wish. Nah, it's just I put it down in the Unfortunate Blog afterwards, and posts there are quite long, so, I made it long to fit in with the posts on UB.

I agree; that would be annoying. Then Handler would say that they had many wonderful adventures ahead of them, without giving us any idea what they were.
