Olaf was in V.F.D. when he was young, but left or turned against the organization at some unknown point in time. Books such as TBL or the U.A. suggest that he has been evil for many years, though; it doesn't seem likely that he'd have been in a relationship with Kit particularly recently. If you like, you can see parallels to Lemony and Beatrice with Olaf and Kit; he always loved her, but she stopped loving him.

Right. Snicket could have gotten it mixed up. Maybe that's why Lemony hates Olaf so much? Olaf killed Beatrice i think thats the reason why Lemony hates Olaf so much |

In A Way it makes sense that Lemony snickets would be Count Olaf, yet at the same time it doesn't fit. Does that make sense?
Esme always seemed to be out to get the bauldelaires because, if I remember right, she thought that Beatrice stole something from her. If Lemony Snickets was Count Olaf then Olaf would have fallen for Beatrice and since Esme likes olaf then she thinks that Beatrice stole Olaf from her?
The brother, sister thing with Kit and Lemony/olaf would make sense too.
But then if Olaf died and Lemony somehow still continued the story it doesn't make much sense, does it? Unless somehow Lemony faked his death as olaf in TE so that he would no longer have to run perhaps? Or maybe he almost died but came back to life and realized that he was a bad person and decided to devote his life to writing about the Bauldelaires?
To tell the truth I don't really believe the whole Olaf is snickets but I can't figure it out. I just can't imagine Olaf and Kit together, its too odd. Unless Olaf was once good. Although I do think that the baby is Deweys....hopefully.

It doesn't, only that him and Kit were, at some point, ina relationship. This comes up in TE.

But we DO know that he killed Jacques and was technically responsible for Kit's death. Usually we hate those who kill our siblings. |
