I am afraid of all the same things you are, joshspazjosh. I am getting extremely worried that there won't be a thirteenth book, even though there is no evidence to back that up.

Back on topic: I have another fear about book 12(or 13, possibly) that seems almost plausible, that one of these two possibilities will be the case: 1. We'll learn nothing at all about VFD. 2. We'll have the answers to most of the mysteries revealed to us flat-out, thus putting a damper on future theorizing. Exactly what I think. But I have something to add to that: 3. We'll learn nothing at all about who the Baudelaire mother is. Even though everyone knows it is Beatrice and everyone won't just admit it.

Someone Told me Mr. Poe doesn't have a mustache. It might be Mr. Remora though but i do not think he has a top hat....hmm That's right. I have been insisting myself that Mr. Poe does not have a mustache. Not in the books anyway, and I doubt Helquist would change the way he looks just because of the movie. You can see a picture of him in TWW, and two pictures of him in TGG. I think the person in the elevator is the woman in the first picture. Look at the top hat and mustache on the floor next to her. I think she is using them to disguise as a man.

Since you finished it, you have earned the right to know my secret. www.puzzlemaker.comYou can set dimensions and other options and it will draw your maze. Then I just copy it into word and add other touches like the sugarbowl. Puzzlemaker will also make crosswords and word searches. I have used puzzlemaker too! I used it to make word-searches to do when I was bored. My History teacher used it to make word-searches for the class. They had the puzzlemaker URL on the bottom of each page. That's where I heard of it.

It was a joke. And I have simply changed the ones that said (Nothing) and the ones that said (Picture of....). I only put those in to emphasize that fact that there is nothing written on those dates. The calendar didn't really say "(Nothing)".

The link works for me. The first time my computer hasn't been retarded.
It's called The Unfortunate Events of October, 2005.
Here are what the days say, for those who can't view it:
October 1st: Watch for coded messages in every book you read.
2nd: Some people call this time of year "Autumn"
3rd: Others refer to it as "Fall"
4th: Still others wish people would stop arguing about it.
5th: (Picture of Violet tying her hair up)
6th: Reading and hotels are out. Fleeing danger is in.
7th: Be prepared to escape at a moments notice.
8th: (You'll be lucky if you even have a moment.)
9th: Do not think about Lemony Snicket today. He will think about you.
10th: (Picture of Klaus)
11th: Only 7 days left to forget how to read. Begin with the word "denouement."
12th: Only 6 days left to cancel your library card.
13th: A Sugar Bowl is seldom the best hiding place for important secrets.
14th: Friday the 14th is not regarded as unlucky.
15th: (Picture of Sunny)
16th: Look out! No, the other way!
17th: The last day you can safely go into a bookstore.
18th: UNFORTUNATE DAY Remain calm, it will all be over soon. (Are any new books on sale today?)
19th: Did you survive?
20th: (Ex Libris picture of Olaf)
21st: I can't believe you made it this far.
22nd: First photocopy made, 1938. Previously, there was only one of everything.
23rd: (Nothing)
24th: (Nothing)
25th: (Picture of Mr. Poe coughing)
26th: The end of October is nothing to cough at.
27th: This is most likely not the day when things suddenly change for the better.
28th: Nor is this.
29th: But today might be. On second thought, it is not.
30th: (Nothing)
31st: Halloween
Cool calendar, Gigi!

I'm going to try to get it early, and I will PM Dante before I post anything about it if I do get it.

Very nice. The very earliest I'll get Book the Twelfth is the evening of the 18th evening, if that...perhaps not even until the weekend. I'm sorry Setnick. Where I live the book will be released at 8:00 A.M.

Darn it, you had me all excited. I thought you actually had the first chapter. Yeah, I doubt we'll get this one early. *sigh* 37 more days... Same thing.

Look at the last picture in The Wide Window. Mr. Poe is standing at the gate. He has glasses and no mustache. The man in the elevator has no glasses and a mustache. Hope that makes sense. But if it IS Mr. Poe (and I could be wrong about it being somebody we have never met), by some stretch of the imagination, and Poe is trying to disguise himself by not wearing his glasses and putting on a fake mustache, then he is in a pretty poorly done disguise.

THE MAN IS NOT MR. POE!!! Mr. Poe does NOT have a mustache.
That is a fact, quite simply. There are obviously a lot of new characters in the hotel. Darn, I was hoping it would at least be someone we would know. I am getting frustrated.

I don't think that they will be going back to 667. But I might be wrong.
