The Ersatz Elevator. I was never quite sure why. I've just always liked it.

EDIT: I have to admit, though, that I'm Wiki-ignorant. How do we vote? The site says that voters have to be "registered user with at least one contribution that is not a vote." What does that mean? I believe that that means you have to have a Wikipedia account, and you have to have used that account to edit an article (to show that you haven't registered solely to vote, I think). I support this 100%. Nothing better to do. EDIT: I added my vote under my hardly used account (Hooky6). It says that now we need 16 votes by December 12, 2006. Get an account! We can do it!

Honestly, I like the later books more, mainly because with each book you read, you find the answers to the mysteries of the first few books, but at the same time newer and deeper mysteries are introduced that make the story so much more interesting.

Maybe it's a message to some top-secret vault that has important things in it (which Olaf no doubt would want), rather than just money.

I believe it is more likely to stand for Volunteer Fire Department, but Lemony could trick us.

This does seem to be the sort of trap the Baudelaires are getting into. In The Penultimate Peril, they find it 'necessary' to burn down the Hotel Denouement, to use as a signal. They are becoming more villainous and they don't seem to know how to stop.
Also, the Baudelaires seem to have just about given up fighting the evil, and are finding it difficult to resist. They don't want to be evil, but they can't find any other way out of their predicament.

I think (before I became a member) I read that thread...yes, I did.
Wow.....pretty strange. But I guess only having books 1-9 is a good excuse for such unusual ideas.

Hmmm.....probably Jargo Zyzygy. Zyzygy is a real word, too. It doesn't look that mysterious, though.

Yes, but I just don't think that they change their names when they enter the organization. It would be too much of a hassle, plus it would take the recruits forever to get used to their new name.

I agree. We would have noticed sooner if the book that Klaus read said that the Mamba du Mal only paralized its vicims. We would have noticed that before even joining this forum.
