I'll look for more information about Vancouver. (A quick search reveals that Stephin Merritt's Magnetic Fields are appearing at the Vogue Theatre that same day. Are they appearing with LS?) I just wanted to have a separate thread to keep all the tour news together.

Wait, Gigi, do you mean this? That was their last Vancouver appearence, in 2004. Odd how both shows are/will be on the same day.

Hmm. I just searched for the date, not the year. That is odd that it's the same. Well, I'll leave it as Venue Unknown then.

I don't know if they travel on book tour together, but Daniel Handler's wife Lisa Brown will be in Massachusetts the week before he is to promote her new book How to Be. (I believe her family lives on the East Coast, so maybe they're making a vacation out of it.)

I don't know if people have commented on this, but she has four "Baby Be of Use" books, such as Baby Mix Me A Drink, which is absolutely hilarious. I don't know that I'd be willing to pay $24 in order to read all four of them, though... She should totally write more for adults. Although that's all I've read of hers, it was brilliant.

I've added another stop. Berkeley, CA on November 13th. I also got rid of the Announced and Rumored headings and just listed everything together in order.

It bothered me that you abbreviated Georga as GA but wrote all the other states out in full. So I changed it. Hope you don't mind.

Sorry. I hope it wasn't gnawing at you too much, or keeping you up at night. It was probably the result of copy/paste.
I figured I should type out the whole state for people who don't live in the US and might not be familiar with the abbreviations. That said, I added the word Canada to the end of the Vancouver entry.

I hope it wasn't gnawing at you too much, or keeping you up at night. Oh, but it was. Countless nights I have spent, awake, wondering: why only Georgia? Was its abbreviation better known, perhaps? Were you incapable of spelling out "Georgia"? Was it a code, implanted in your post by extraterrestrials who were intending to mark it as their first target when they take over the earth? Was it in order to avoid confusion with the nation Georgia? So many possibilites! So little sleep!

I'll put this here for now. Today I recieved an email from 826 Seattle, a literacy program which Handler benefits (this is the same organization though which Handler is appearing in Seattle on Sept 1): !!! Fake edit: I like how, on the list of tour dates, every one except the Canadian one has contact information. Way to go, HarperCollins. ...I'll post it here, anyway, although I think I'm the only one going. (There's a North Vancouver location, too, but I'll assume it's the one located in Vancouver. ) Vancouver: 3083 West Broadway Vancouver, British Columbia 604.738.5335 Vancouver Kidsbooks.

Oh my god, donuts with Handler? But it's halfway across the country and costs $100. Guess I won't be attending.
Also, thanks for the info, Gigi. I'll probably make the Downers Grove appearance.

How much is too much to pay for something like that? If it were in my town, I would seriously consider going. Plus, you would get TBL early AND signed by him.
If you think about it, though, fifty people meeting him for one hour, you would get less than two minutes with him. (1.2 minutes to be exact) Unless you grab him by the arm, don't let go and totally hog his time. That would be worth $100 for sure.
EDIT: Darn! I found out today that even though H-C lists two events in Milwaukee, there really is only one. Oh well.

Newsflash: I just got off the phone with the 826 lady, and I have a spot in the Doughnuts with Handler thing! I'm so excited, and the lady on the phone was getting all excited because I was getting excited. She couldn't believe that I would drive three and a half hours to see him. It's totally worth $100 US.

Wow! Lucky you!
Be sure to take lots of pictures and give us a full report. (What kind of doughnuts does Handler like? Does he drink coffee or milk?)
